Hi all,

I posted a while back sayin that I got banned off ebay.

Since then I have been working to get back on. I opened a new paypal and ebay account with **** details.

Im in the process of completing my paypla direct debit.

All was well until just now. I went to sell my first item, so it takes me on the seller verification pages on ebay. I successfully verified my phone number, then the next page is deciding how to pay ebay fees.

the 3 options are use your paypal to pay fees, use a credit or debit card or set up a direct debit.

In all 3 cases I am being asked for my card details which will not be authorised with my **** details.

Please help me. Thank you all in advance.

I am in the UK by the way.

Very basic stuff. All covered in the Stealth Book, and can be found through search. Take your pick.

Ok thanks for that.

I just signed up to entropay. I successfully activiated a virtual card. So i see a picture of the card on my screen but the long number only shows the first few and last few digits.

I have added my proper visa card but the option to load the virtual card is not available?

Can someone advise me.

Thank you.

When you sign up for a virtual card do you put in real details or stealth details.

I put in my stealth details to match that of my ebay and paypal and en tro pay want a copy of driving licence utiltiy bill etc etc.

I can't give them that information because it will not match.

I know I have done it wrong. Can someone please give me a hand in signing up for a virtual card the right way.

Thank you.

When you sign up for vcc's such as entropay you use your REAL details always.

The information you input into your vcc will not be shared with ebay/paypal due to data protection laws.

Just for personal knowledge,

I just tried to get as far as I could with the 3 methods of paying fees just to see which details are required. With debit card and direct debit, when it comes to card details it doesnt ask you for the name of card holder, but when choosing to do it by pa yp al it asks you for your name. If I put my stealth name and then virtual card details, will that work?

If so why doesnt a normal card work in the same way and if not, doesn't that mean pa yp al has access to the virtual card records?

Thanks a million.

I 'think' normal cards don't work coz of postcode matching.

Likely, this is a common factor amongst credit cards, it is used to identify the person claiming to own the card.

It is known as the Address Verification System. This is used in the UK and the US.

this is the same problem that I have too - the 3 options, paypal, dd and card all ask for credit or debit card details. Will a virtual card or a 3v voucher work in this instance?

Also, as per my previous thread, I signed up for entropay with my correct details. They asked me for my drivers licence and bank card pictures - uploaded them and they still said NO to me

Just want to know which is the best option for me now - I have read stealth btw.

Cheers

I know I dont have to but 2 out of the 3 options requires you to. The other option is adding it to pa yp al.

Which method, out of the 3 would you suggest?

It isn't about what I suggest to be honest, people have a different opinion on things, perhaps you should go with the safest option and add a card instead.

I pay with PP :D

It depends on your game plan.

IMHO if your eb and PP have the same details why not link them? Lets face it - if one goes down the other is going with it and one wouldn't be any use without the other.

Having said that I'm new here and wiser heads than mine might know better

By linking eb and pp do you mean doing it officially as in going on eb and completing the linking process, or are u speaking 'metaphorically'.

Either way by linking, will that eliminate having to add a card?

Apple- is you pp bank acc verified?

^^^ She is talking about linking them when paying your EB fees with PP.

Saying if one went down, the other one would anyway because they have the same details. Therefore you might as well pay your fees with PP.

She means that or there abouts, that is how I interpreted it.

Anyway read this thread and make your own mind up...

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-di...do-safely.html

The point is that pp and eb DO share info and this could easily lead to a suspension or a limit.

And now another newbie is going to fall for the trap of using paypal for fees.
Bad move to pay fees with paypal. Bad move.

What is your biggest worry about paying fees with PP?

That they may go as far as your bank account to collect the money?

I prefer to minimise the amount of access paypal has to my accounts.

Ergo, ebay gets their fees without paypal being involved.

One less link that could potential damage a stealth account.

Haha, sorry this is just one of the things I just can't figure out fully yet

Well here it is........soo why is the info PP gives EB (or vice versa) going to be any different everytime you accept a payment or do a refund?
