Default How weird is this. limited paypal to withdraw to another account

Paypal limited over 180 days. It is Ie account therefore added an aei bank account. When trying to click continue on withdraw to bank page, it will remain still. After many phonecalls. i was told technical problem and they will add a withdraw button to the account.
After 1 week of waiting, spoke on phone again today and they said due to permanent lock account access is restricted. (although able to log in)
and only way to withdraw is to send it to a friends or family account and to email the appeal department the email address.
Never heard or read this anywhere. Has anyone experiened such same?

no never heard of this

technically they are supposed to allow you to add a bank acc if limited, try and find that somewhere on T & C and take it higher.

So are they are telling you to send it to friend, what their paypal or bank??? weird, apart from anything else a locked acc cannot send money, can yours send??? if so suppose you can just send it to yourself, like a temporary disposible acc and cash it out......

added a bank account. They said because pp account is locked the bank account cannot go through the confirm process with the 2 deposits. Nor are they allowed to do a manual transfer to the bank account. Another family/friends paypal account whereas they can withdraw the funds for me. (there exact words).

WHOAH! do not do anything like that unless you have it in writing. There's some strange instructions coming out of paypal UK like this. Where you speaking to Dublin call centre? Did you by chance get the name of the agent you spoke to on this topic?

Here's a thought. Send them an email outlining what you told us. Get them to give you confirming instructions for this.

Not unreasonable to bet there will be a different answer. Any future speaking to paypal, get the name of the staffer. They need to be taken to task for their horrific (lack of) customer service.

This is the same company that has an ongoing glitch that will not allow users to recover a forgotten password. 7 calls to get it sorted

Be very very careful of their spoken word. For the sake of your monies, get anything in writing.

them telling you to send it to a family friends acc is totally unprofessional and outrageous...

if its any consolation, things I thought would never get sorted over months and months, happen in the end, but it takes talking, emailing and getting the attention of just ONE sane staffer to facilitate...persevere, it will get sorted.

Update:
Phoned yesterday and the notes in their system said same. Phoned today, same again saying ticket is raised and it is known as a "correction transfer" to another account. It is processed from usa paypal so i have been told again on phone that is is on its way..
