Default lifting £1900 limit on paypal

Hi

When opening a new paypal account should i go ahead and be creative and fax of the documents to get the £1900 limit lifted straight away? or wait until the account has took in £1650 before faxing info off ?

Are the documents you send paypal checked by computer or someone working in paypal?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know you wont even get asked to fax or upload these documents until you are over the £1650 amount, so unless you are selling £1000 of pounds worth of stuff per week then you will probably be waiting for a while.

That's not true. If you decide to lift your limits at anytime (even on a brand new account) they will ask you for these documents if they can't verify your address. The questions is, do you wait till you reach the £1650 or are you better off lifting the limits as soon as you open the account(although you don't really need it at this time)?

Might as well just fax in the documents before they ask...

It won't stall your sales then, if paypal demand them

No, they just check that the name, address and d.o.b on the passport or driving licence match on your paypal

They go through hundreds a week. It would cost them time and money to look up every single persons records.

I'm not sure what to do if you have forgot it... Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge than me can tell you about that

When you say a business account - was it a limited company or a T/A?

In terms of whether you should lift the £1900 limit straight away or wait until you have actually received more than £1650, the best advice is to just open multiple PayPal accounts. Leave the limit in place on some and attempt to lift the limit on some.

Hey man!

I also lift the limit straight away now but for the majority of new stealth members it is their biggest sticking point, especially when they may only currently have one or a few accounts. They do not want to risk losing them.

Is your account limited due to risk or are you trying to lift the £1900 receiving limit? Two totally different things.

To lift £1900 limit only photo ID and utility bill is needed (assuming you do not pass the online ID check).

For many other limitations pp may ask for supplier information / invoices etc etc.

They don't ask for ID with DOB. A passport doesn't have a DOB. (subtle hint)

Are you sure about that? My new UK passport has a DOB on it, as did the old style one I had previous to it.
