Default Question about them pesky new account selling limits!

Hi folks!

I think I already know the answer to this question but I just wanted to make sure. I've just created my 2nd new eBay Stealth account and listed my first auction. Now they are saying that I have a selling limit of either 10 items or up to £650 per month which is a bit crappy cos unless I was going to sell 10 items that made £65 each then I'll reach my selling limit long before I've made £650! On average I make between £15 and £25 per item which will mean I'll only be able to make a couple of hundred quid per month per account at this rate ...

Anyway when I clicked on the option to increase my selling limits on my Ebay summary page it said to verify my bank account with Paypal - you know the thing where I type in the pin code made from the 2 random deposits they make in my bank account. I've read in another thread that once I do this then my selling limits will then automatically increase to 100 items per month or £1000.

Is this correct? Or do I have to do this and email / contact Ebay before my selling limits will be increased? I mean I do plan to spread some sales over a couple of accounts I've set up so already I can sell a minimum of 20 items / up to £1300 at the moment, which isnt bad, but I just wanted to know if my limits will be increased by verifying my bank account.

Sorry to be repeating a much mentioned topic again, but I wanted to check if this is right and if its relevant to the UK as well.

kindest regards

Johnny

Ta for letting me know that GTB!

I dunno AyeDGAF, I only just found out about this, it might be different with you been an Ebay USA account holder. Why what is your limit / how old is your account?

IME the limits were 10 items / £350 which then increased to 100 items / £3500. For you it could raise to £6500 (limits raised by factor of 10?)

Actually, one thing to note is that when I confirmed the bank account in PP (deposit amounts) the limits in eB weren't raised automatically - I wasted a month without realising I had to actively set out to raise them from within eB. As soon as I requested it, it checked PP already had the bank confirmed and they were raised immediately.

You should get a higher limit than £1000 anyway (in the UK at least). Can it depend on the items you were selling? I was in the consumer electronics section with vintage/classic electronics and collectables.

(I'm currently starting again though so will find out again soon enough - was my fault as I'd made a payment from stealth to non-stealth to pay for an item I was scared of loosing out on which in turn lead to stealth being limited as soon as I threatened legal proceedings for the non-stealth funds release. I didn't get the item anyway as the non-stealth was limited as soon as I tried to pay.. and money bounced back from bank transfer into the PP account instead of back into my bank where it was illegally held. Pay with card as that always returns to the card. We learn our lessons...)

Everything is verified in my eb and pp. is it because my eb is personal and needs to change to business?

Have you actively requested the limits be raised within eB?

It's not automatic.

Other than that I'm not sure.. might be different in US to UK.

UK accounts raise limits by linking verified pp, with US accounts it is a different you need to verify your personal data and contact them
