Default Using a different router.

Hi,

I wasn't able to change my IP address by the method in eBay Stealth but I have another router and when I connect my laptop to it it shows a different IP address when I check with IPBurger.

My questions are -

1. Is that enough, or can they see your MAC address?

2. Is it ok that every time I sign in to ebay I have a different IP address or will that arouse suspicion?

Thanks.

Answers:

1: EBay/PP cannot see your Mac Address.

2. It's perfectly safe to have a different IP every time, make sure to log your IP changes with each account.

how many accounts are you operating/planning on operating on sweetie ?

if your running one account, then as long as the ip is different to the one you used with your banned eb ay/pay pal accounts then that is fine

if more than one account then i really do believe the best way to deal with the ip address issue is a dongle

pay as you go or a contract

£10 approx a month is well worth paying as the time you will be saving from messing about changing the ip can be used to earn more money

multiple accounts + dongle =

It's just one account at the moment, but I would like to get another one at the one I'm using has a selling limit of 10 items/£650 per month which isn't enough to live on.

The dongle option would require me to get a mobile phone signal wouldn't it? If so then that's a problem as I have no signal at all where I live.

According to those links there is no service for Three and Vodafone but possibly a weak signal for Orange. There is nothing for O2, my mobile phone is with them and I have to go a mile to get a signal. The trouble is it's all mountains around here.

No I'm with BT. I don't have much choice with regards to Broadband providers where I live in the Highlands.

Hi,

yes the IP does change if I turn the router off. I originally meant I couldn't change it as described in the Stealth Book by accessing the MAC code and changing the numbers, sorry if I was unclear about that.
The book said the second option was to use a different router so I assumed that just having a new IP on the original router wasn't enough, that they could still get information from it to see who I am.

Currently I have my original ebay account which I can't sell on, only buy, if I want to use that I use the original router that I always used.
Then I have one other ebay account on which I use another router when I want to sign into it.
Every time I change routers I get a different IP address to what I had the last time it was turned on. The routers are BT homehub 2 and BT homehub 3.
