With smile, yes. 5 at the moment, but be careful to open them slowly. Months apart for each new account.

Do you know if they let you have the account number an sort code straight away, even if you don't have an account with them already?

I'm sure they will need to see a copy of passport etc, can you scan this to them online?

The majority of accounts you can apply for online. Halifax and RBS are online accounts. No identification needed!!

Never had to send ID to smile, this may be different for other though.

Takes a few days to get the Sort Code and Account Number, which is never an issue for me, just means the eBay ages a bit more.

Do do things correctly in stealth takes time, rush and you will make mistakes.

Just to make sure everyone knows, when apply for a bank, you use your REAL details. :thumb:

Just looked at smile....there are no basic accounts, just current & a load of co op accounts to choose from. I tried smile about a year ago & was all current accounts!!

Basic bank accounts are your best bet in my opinion, yes you get paperwork but they open relatively fast and I managed to open a HSBC basic account within a week of applying for it to getting my Card, Pin and Account number & Sort code. Even got the online banking all done and setup within the same week.

OK so snail mail takes a couple of days but what's a week to get a solid bank account with sort code and account number that works with PP for a stealth account that could last you years!?

As members have stated on here, stealth isn't about speed, its about slow progression and building deep firm roots of multiple branches... that's the key. Speed and impatience can cost you big time!

I opened an e-saver with Santander yesterday, I already had a current account with them(worst damn bank in the UK) they are reputed to be not good for stealth in the traditional sense. Then I saw the post regarding removing the account after it receives the deposits, and then re-adding when you want to withdraw.

halifiax easy cash works good (basic bank account), so do there savers.

you can open and shut savers willy nilly.

My next step would be BOS easycash, its the same as above just with another bank and guess what there savers accounts work too, you can open them willy nillly

As stated above , Yorkshire Ready cash, its another basic bank account that's easy to get without any real credt it check.

Open telephone banking and your online to open some savers.

from the above list you can have upto 12-20 bank accounts if needs be

I just came across "Eccount Money" online. Opened the account in 2 minutes.

£12.50 to verify a PP account! Seems overly expensive, especially when you can get basic accounts for free.

Yeah, I can confirm that "eccount" is not worth it. The paypal deposit came through, but there is no "code" attached. So, bottom line, cannot verify the pp account.

does halifax got a good customer service? and possible to open an account online how long does it take to get the card...

need a bit advice need to open third account got already Natwest witch is only 2 weeks old and LLoyds TSB sorry i mean Lloyd Bank lol.

Lloyds is no good for Stealth. They don't accept mismatched names.

Loyd Saver accounts DO accept mismatching names. I used my girlfriends Loyds current and 2 savers to verify PP before reading that it is not recommended.
Anyway the fact is that it DOES verify and allow mismatched name deposits. Withdrawals work too.

Lloyds should be avoided.
