| | | Bulldog | 07-05-2013 08:35 PM | Halifax Online Saver Alternative ?? I know we sometimes need to call paypal to add these accounts but is there any other online savers accounts out there that work the same?
What i like about these accounts are:
1. You can use any name for deposits.
2. They are set up instantly and you have an account number straight away. |
| frksmth | 07-05-2013 10:29 PM | Lloyds easy saver and Barclays easy saver have been working the same way for me :) |
| GreenBean | 07-05-2013 10:38 PM | Barclays is OK.
Avoid lloyds. Bank is not on the suggested list
Confirmed to have exchanged info with PayPal
:nono: |
| frksmth | 07-05-2013 10:54 PM | Thanks for that GreenBean, looks like I may have to change the bank account on three accounts. Although, they have been working fine for the past year... Would you recommend that I change the bank on PayPal or leave it as it is, for now? |
| GreenBean | 07-06-2013 07:33 AM | @frksmth
Add a new bank account only
No need to remove one
Be careful when doing transfers
This is how I do it
Good Luck
:typing: |
| JamesNorth101 | 07-06-2013 09:27 AM | I use Co-Op and Smile mostly. No issues to date. |
| Bulldog | 07-06-2013 10:53 AM | Thanks for all the replies.
Ill avoid lloyds then....lol
I just had a look at the barclays easy saver account but it says that they have discontinued them now.
I'm sure that smile need to send you out paperwork before they open the account so not as instant as the halifax account is.
Is co-op the same? |
| JamesNorth101 | 07-06-2013 12:12 PM | Never had to send paper work for mine, just wait 3 or 4 days for it to arrive in the post
Be careful to not open or apply for too many accounts in too short a time |

That's what i meant mate, you need to wait for the paperwork to get the account numbers also it takes them a few days to set it up...etc.
With halifax you get everything at the end of the application.
Does the co-op savings account work the same as the halifax one?
Also what barclays saving account do you all use now they have discontinued the easy saver accounts? |
| GreenBean | 07-06-2013 08:36 PM | What Barclays have done is discontinued the easy savers account unless the customer already have one.
:juggle: |
| GreenBean | 07-06-2013 08:46 PM | Prbolem is savers can reject the DD mandate.
Maybe look for basic accounts instead.

| Stigger | 07-10-2013 12:05 PM | Ready cash from Yorkshire bank....its there easy cash equivalent |
Are there banks that you can sign up as a new customer online? |

Ok. Also I was looking at Yorkshire Bank, they do a Prepaid Card that also acts as a bank account, and you don't need to have a bank account with them About the Yorkshire Bank Prepaid Card |
| JamesNorth101 | 07-19-2013 11:52 AM | I could be wrong, but it does not look like it comes with a bank account or a sort code, which as far as I know means it is no good for PP. Open to being corrected though. |
It says
"Have your wages paid directly to your card by your employer for FREE!"
"Transfer money from any bank account to your card for FREE!"
Also look at the bottom of this page: Yorkshire Bank Prepaid Card - How to top up |
Also you can have up to 5 cards per household :) |
| JamesNorth101 | 07-19-2013 01:37 PM | But as I mentioned it does not have a bank account number or a sort code, so cannot be used on PP. I know the Americans can withdraw to cards sometimes, but I am unaware of us Brits being able to do it. |
Ah, I saw this, but it seems like this is their account, and with the reference number it get's routed to your account.
Bummer :(
Payee/Recipients Name: 360money Direct Deposit
Account Number: 80212458
Sort code: 20-03-53
Payment Reference: The 14 digit account number on the back of your card |
| JamesNorth101 | 07-19-2013 03:35 PM | I have never used this method, so there may well be a way to make it work, but I am unsure of it. |

| levi6482 | 07-30-2013 12:07 PM | Great thanks 👍 |

I'm sure they will need to see a copy of passport etc, can you scan this to them online? |
| levi6482 | 07-30-2013 01:11 PM | The majority of accounts you can apply for online. Halifax and RBS are online accounts. No identification needed!! |

Takes a few days to get the Sort Code and Account Number, which is never an issue for me, just means the eBay ages a bit more.
Do do things correctly in stealth takes time, rush and you will make mistakes.
Just to make sure everyone knows, when apply for a bank, you use your REAL details. :thumb: |
| levi6482 | 07-31-2013 06:11 AM | Just looked at smile....there are no basic accounts, just current & a load of co op accounts to choose from. I tried smile about a year ago & was all current accounts!! |
| levi6482 | 07-31-2013 08:46 AM | Any suggestions anybody?? |
| tmastermind | 07-31-2013 12:09 PM | Basic bank accounts are your best bet in my opinion, yes you get paperwork but they open relatively fast and I managed to open a HSBC basic account within a week of applying for it to getting my Card, Pin and Account number & Sort code. Even got the online banking all done and setup within the same week.
OK so snail mail takes a couple of days but what's a week to get a solid bank account with sort code and account number that works with PP for a stealth account that could last you years!?
As members have stated on here, stealth isn't about speed, its about slow progression and building deep firm roots of multiple branches... that's the key. Speed and impatience can cost you big time! |
I opened an e-saver with Santander yesterday, I already had a current account with them(worst damn bank in the UK) they are reputed to be not good for stealth in the traditional sense. Then I saw the post regarding removing the account after it receives the deposits, and then re-adding when you want to withdraw.
Will give it a whirl |
| Stigger | 08-07-2013 09:34 AM | halifiax easy cash works good (basic bank account), so do there savers.
you can open and shut savers willy nilly.
My next step would be BOS easycash, its the same as above just with another bank and guess what there savers accounts work too, you can open them willy nillly
As stated above , Yorkshire Ready cash, its another basic bank account that's easy to get without any real credt it check.
Open telephone banking and your online to open some savers.
from the above list you can have upto 12-20 bank accounts if needs be |
| frksmth | 08-28-2013 08:35 PM | I just came across "Eccount Money" online. Opened the account in 2 minutes.
Does anyone have any idea if they are safe to use?
My intention is to use the account just to verify a pp account. |

My intention is to use the account just to verify a pp account. | That is the intention of everybody adding a bank account.
Also to withdraw.
Is this a basic account or a savings account??
Let us know if the deposits or code goes in. |

£12.50 to verify a PP account! Seems overly expensive, especially when you can get basic accounts for free. |

does halifax got a good customer service? and possible to open an account online how long does it take to get the card...
need a bit advice need to open third account got already Natwest witch is only 2 weeks old and LLoyds TSB sorry i mean Lloyd Bank lol. |
| Freakzilla | 09-02-2013 06:14 PM | Lloyds is no good for Stealth. They don't accept mismatched names. |
| crazyinside | 12-03-2014 04:10 PM | Re: Halifax Online Saver Alternative ?? Loyd Saver accounts DO accept mismatching names. I used my girlfriends Loyds current and 2 savers to verify PP before reading that it is not recommended.
Anyway the fact is that it DOES verify and allow mismatched name deposits. Withdrawals work too. |
