Default restricted selling due to low dsr

Hi. This has taken me by surprise. 20th last month my DSR was 6.7. I got it down to 4.95 by end of month but now on 5.35. I thought I was safe until I started to post new stock and now find I have been restricted. Stuck with about £1000 worth of gear I can't post. Question
1. If my future sales bring the DSRs down below 5 will they remove the restrictions?
2 I don't have any stealth accounts but I do have two others in my name and address. These show allowances of 100 and 50. Can I use those?

1 - Possibly, but cannot be certain.
2 - If your first account is linked to them and your first account goes down, then these 2 will also go down.

One account is my son's which I have used occasionally. Same name same address. Would that be affected?

Possibly but again cannot be certain. Chances are high though, especially if you started selling the same items.

Your potential risk is ebay thinking you are using another account to get around the restricted selling.

And sadly, you really are.

That makes your position difficult.

Be careful of what you do.

Looking at it again I see they haven't credited me with any sales since end of September. If they were to do that it would put me below 5%. I've got about 80 items on at the moment (with another 100 I was going to put on over the next few days) so I guess if I keep my nose clean the DSRs will drop. Question still remains, will they raise the limits?

Again, we cannot say if the limits will be increased or not. It is impossible to say.

The best guess would be yes eventually they will be increased.

Assesments run from the 20th to the 20th. Any sales since the 20th of Sep will not yet be taken into account.

Just discovered that I DO have a stealth account which has been dormant for well over a year and never used. Can only post 10 items tho' but it will help.
Another question. My sales consist of catalogue returns. If I am selling, say, DIY goods on the site which has been restricted, would I have problems selling, say, bathroom fittings on my son's site? ( albeit both will be catalogue returns, and both eBay sites from same address)
Failing that it looks like having to open more stealth accounts

Could be affected due to similar info - begin making unlinked stealths

If it has been dormant for that long...EASE it into existence - do NOT go gung ho and start selling right away.

ceebee, we already suggested to NOT use your son's account.

The same address is a big issue.

Is this at an address not related to anything else?

If the answer to the first question is yes, you have a chance to get going again.

But we need to make sure there is no linking.

Name, address, everything different. Only one snag, I forgot to change the IP address on the first occasion I opened the stealth account to check it out.

One off use of an IP should not cause grief.

You may be on to a winner here.

Not sure if you have this file

JamesNorth created it. Great tool for stealth.

Things might be about to improve, ceebee

Good Luck

Sorry if I appear to be playing a cracked record but I have to admit to being frightened by the possibility of being kicked off. Anyone tell me how serious my case is? Last month went below at 6.70. This month currently 5.90. Before that, a clean record for years so it had never occurred to me to pay attention. Having spent hours looking at it I think I could have kept that at just over 5 if I had been paying attention. It seems every time I get a knock it cost .35 or so, which needs at least 10 sales to make it up. Seems very unfair.

Sadly, it can be considered unfair but the reason is that many people have ruined the system causing security measures to be heightened.

Not paying attention is not a good excuse

What is causing these low numbers? Slow dispatch time? Communication?
This things can be improved..

For example : Mark items dispatched within 24hours of payment being received and they will not be able to give you stars for dispatch time.
Free postage does the same thing, also write clear and DETAILED descriptions, dont leave anything to chance.

I've got 6 for 1,2,3 stars items description( but baffled because 100% feedback.) 2 were for items not received ( bloody City Link) 2 returns for not described ( But I pointed out to one buyer that the faults HAD been described). 2 were for me cancelling ( I won't do that again in a hurry) 6 open cases not as described ( This was way back in July when I had a bad spell of items failing)( in fact July was when a large proportion of these problems arose)

I do a next day posting and inform buyer when it has been posted. I do free shipping. I think my descriptions are accurate at the time of posting, but couriers? In recent weeks if a buyer comes to me and complains I don't question, I apologise and refund immediately and let them keep it. ( Maybe I am wrong in trying to recover my eBay fees?)

Guys, I'm still losing sleep! My DSR went 6.7 last month, looks like 5.9 this month. They limited me to 150 per month. I'm trying like crazy to get it down. When, or are they likely to, suspend me?
