Default Direct Debit madate refused email....

so over the weekend I got the paypal email saying the bank had refused the DD mandate instruction.

have read a lot on the forums but seems to be a lot of Conflicting Posts...

the bank was a very big and popular uk bank, and I had read on here reports that this Particular Bank was fine.

the PP Code went through ok.

so will I not be able to withdraw from paypal to this Bank now because of this, or does it just mean that the bank cant be used for Funding to paypal.

and will there be a Flag rasied on this account due to this.. surely this gives a big signal to them for Poss Stealth, as im sure most of you would agree that ebay/paypal staff will constantly read these Forums?

I really don't want to loose this stealth, have already sold a few basic items and money is in paypal

is the PP DD mandate Compulsory, cause on my 1st stealth ages ago, im 100% sure I didn't do it or see it in PP when linked my bank

I am guessing this is a savings account?

You can still use the bank account to withdraw to.

If it does get kicked completely, click 'Withdraw Money' and then where it says add a bank, add the bank details there. It should stick then for withdrawals

No its a proper current account,

so would it be ok to leave as is, or would it best to make a another new bank acc and add that, or would that look suss?

I was planning to list some more expensive items soon on this stealth but having second thoughts now....

as this bank acc cant be used as a Back Up funding source now for Ebay seller Fees etc and I were to start listing more expensive or 'high risk' items on ebay... would this not get some unwanted attention? flags...

Usually only happens with savings accounts.

So long as you can still withdraw to the bank account from the PayPal then I would not worry about about.

When you say you want to list expensive items.... What sort of items and value are we talking about? And how old is the PayPal and eBay?

You can still use your PayPal balance or VCC to pay your eBay fees.

the accs aged well past the '90 days period'
obv don't wanna say too much about future items, but there not 'real' high risk (maybe a little) from experience... or too expensive either.

If the item raises flags then it does not matter if its past 90 days. Certain items can only be listed on eBay after 6/12 months+

oh I forgot to say too

when I hit the "send DD Instruction button" in PP, I did not have to fill in any details ...
I hit the button, and it just loaded for a second or 2, and that was it..

ive read on here bout some Having to fill in the online form with bank address etc...

Selling accounts only start to age from date of first sale.

Without know roughly the value of the item and what it is its impossible to say how old ideally the account should be. Some items your just never going to be able to sell.

Means nothing, just because that doesn't show does not mean your item is not high risk.

can some of you most experienced users advise on this please... with the huge purge that's going down at the moment, I really don't wanna loose this one before its even started properly..

would I be better off adding another new bank acc, or leave it as it is and see if its ok even though my bank returned the direct debit instruction

thx

If your only problem is that you have had an email from PP saying your bank mandate has been refused, you should have no further problems. Withdrawals will still work, verification is still valid etc.

My long term paypal account had a DD with one of the big four and it was suddenly rejected by the bank. This was never an issue and i carried on for years. The bonus was Paypal couldnt get money out either. I never enquired why, but assumed it was because it 'timed out' as i always used funds available to pay.

Roll on to my friends account set up a few months ago. Proper current account with the big four. Within weeks an email said the DD had been rejected. I assumed maybe she goes overdrawn a lot or something. Account still works OK.

As said above - in both cases there were no issues with withdrawls or verification after receiving these emails.

juts going back to this topic

as im selling a few items on this acc, would the fact that the DD mandate has been rejected by the bank not make paypal take some kind of action on it as seller fees aren't "guaranteed by bank funding back up" if there not paid by paypal balance first?

or does having the VCC make it ok as a 2nd option for them

thx

Could be an issue - especially with the way PP has been crazy limiting these days
