Default RM claim

Hi,

Need some advise please. If i send a parcel to a customer "royal mail signed for" and they say it has not been received. Once the the 20 day waiting period has elapsed and i make a claim. Where does the cheque from then go to, as the address is not may own. How does signed for claim work on stealth accounts.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The name and address you put on the claims form.

Your stealth details don't matter. Unfortunately if you are a business seller on eBay Royal Mail will only reimuburse you the cost of the item, not the selling costs, so will have to provide an invoice from your supplier

If you're a personal seller, just fill the form in with your genuine details.

You make the claim under your real details not the stealth details

The cheque will then be sent to your address

RM are finally sending the ref number of claim with the confirmation email - they sometimes didnt before and then you would forget to write it down or lose it, esier to keep track via email now.

do you all always put it as an ebay/amazon sale? if not done in bulk, eg. maybe 1 per month, can be done as a personal claim with just receipts, if you have them....always wanted to avoid giving multiple eb accs and transactions to RM, all going to same claimant ie. me...

When I submitted a claim to RM they came back with as I was a business seller they would only refund the cost I paid to my supplier not cost I sold the item for and asked for invoice details.....

That's their standard policy Richie.

It makes sense to be fair. Annoying as it may be!

I have never submitted a claim to RM before. By principle any parcel worth more than £15 I send with myhermes and I am happy the way they handled their claims.

Yes I said that above.

Its a right pain, and designed only to pay out as little as possible. Hermes compensation is easier and simpler, but the service far worse.

if its less than £20 i send royal mail mormal . they pay out better than Hermes. I never use paypal to pay Hermes I always use a credit card. Last time i had an issue with hermes they messed me about and i made a chargeback (section 75) and my credir card paid me back and they took the argument to Hermes. I've used hermes since no bother and paying with a credit card puts me in a stronger position if they messup. I dont find any advantage with Hermes at all
