Always worked without a hicup | I dont think having a dedicated address for a stealth account is worth it, unless you're taking in loads of returns |

This makes solid sense, it wasn't something that was ever mentioned to me when I first bought accounts here, but if you think about all the 'pluses' of having an accesible address for things like documents, its a great plan.

Your next best option imo is paying a corner shop or Hermes shop £20 / month to let them use returns - depends who they are be friendly be nice make them the proposition they won’t say no
A few people here do this without any issues Quote:

Highly considering ditching eBay full stop and invest into something else, far to much headache.
its always been a big headache but this is like the final straw i think,
This new MP system sounds like a HUGE ball ache. |

You have to be far more intelligent than that to try and troll someone.
But great contribution to all the MP threads! Your recent posting history must be classed as invaluable to the cause. |

They would of had stealth information. I'm asking how you've got on with Managed Payments with them. I've already got Stealth accounts confirmed with MP, so not doing to bad for a tool. Quote:

| Steelhead56 | 07-07-2020 04:36 PM | Re: Managing Payments Requesting ID I just applied for managed payments. I have a sealth account but used my information. I changed my birth date and used my first initial of my name. I have never given E bay my SS# so they cannot trace me with that number. Problem is the account owner does not have the same name as me. We will see. |

not sure what benefit renting addresses is for a stealth account apart from being able to accept returns there ? | Quote:

Virtual address that take in parcels etc dont cost too much, i think it was around 40-60 pounds a month. |

| casper555 | 07-09-2020 07:04 PM | Re: Managing Payments Requesting ID received a new email from ebay today about managed payments... apparently they moved the restriction deadline from 15 July to 27 July! What is your take on it?

Remember, your account is scheduled to be enabled in late July - please register by July 15 for eBay to manage your payments. If you miss the registration deadline, starting from 27/07/2020, we will start to restrict your ability to create new listings

| StealthHarry | 07-09-2020 07:08 PM | Re: Managing Payments Requesting ID It’s the same bullsh*t they’ve sent to everyone
Has no meaning
The eBay / PayPal system was so good together
It’s a real shame this happening, I’ve checked eBay community forums & everyone is losing there sh*t there too
I’m just going to boycott it, worst case scenario just earn income elsewhere |
| casper555 | 07-10-2020 04:06 AM | Re: Managing Payments Requesting ID paypal was only good for stealth and micropayments (thats my opinion) under MP ligit businesses with around 100k monthly turnover will be saving £2000 in paypal fee. Plus they will not have to compete with below sellers!!!
People who are complaining about this new system are:
1 who sell lookie-like items
2 who sell digital downloads
3 who burn 1-2 stealth account every month to make quick cash
4 who do not pay taxes
5 who are not registered for VAT
6 who do not want to reveal their id and still sell and earn money... woww
7. people who do not want money to come into their bank account! WHY? rest you know better ;)
Like it or not this is a good step by ebay. If someone is even banned by ebay in past then they can get back on platform with 1 stealth account (by putting their real details on account). A ligit business is not banned in 99% of cases. A ligit business do not need more than 1 and maximum 2 accounts to trade............ Like it or not stealthers need more accounts to f*** the ebay and customers :D |
| casper555 | 07-10-2020 04:25 AM | Re: Managing Payments Requesting ID Ebay has raised category fee but not as much i think. I am not sure about this but i think only half a percent. But paypal commission is around 2.5%. So thats still a saving of 1-2% at least. |
| james_112233 | 07-10-2020 05:11 AM | Re: Managing Payments Requesting ID I've read they are offering cash incentives $50 - $300 to sellers across the pond to sign up to MP.
Reeks of desperation.
Also read that those enrolled in to MP will lose out in sales from non-mp ebay sites. I sell a lot to Japan, S.Korea, Thailand & Singapore. So I will lose out big time. |
| Bigblackdog | 07-10-2020 06:23 AM | Re: Managing Payments Requesting ID I've done the numbers in my own situation and I will be marginally better off
IMO this is more about Ebay finally seperating from Paypal (will take years yet I think) and taking control of the site
I realise fully the angst some are feeling but no one, given the nature of the beast that is Ebay, can be in the least surprised that they would take steps to stop the people mentioned in the comment above
For sure some people will disappear but truly, is that a great loss to Ebay and Ebay buyers?
I think not

The question is: is this eBay just trying to maximise profits by taking a huge chunk of PayPal's business or is it about making sellers more accountable?
I've been selling on eBay for over 20 years. Everything they have ever done was entirely about making money. They've only bothered with accountability when legally obliged (ie people selling items that are copyright infringes).
Much remains to be seen, but I do suspect that eBay have been trying scare people into signing up to MP. I might be wrong, but I can't see a profit-mad company like eBay restricting selling. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:51 AM.
