Hi, does anyone know when private sellers will have to enroll on to MP?

I have this feeling that ebay won't prompt private sellers as they wouldn't have the time to check every ID and bank statement.

Think of it like this; would they really ask Jim who wants to sell a shovel once for his ID and bank statement. I reckon they will just ask for which bank he wants the deposit in rather than asking for a tonne of docs.

Yea you could be right I can't see people wanting to go through all the **** that they want for MP if you are just a private seller.
Like you say if you only want to sell a few things its a lot of hassle for them to sign up for MP

when they phase out Paypal,MP is the only payment processor,so how would you get paid if you dont have a MP account?
Unless it is in category like Ebay motors?
I dont think you can even list any without a MP account??

That seems logical but in ebays eyes they would be losing millions of customers per year (which equals millions in fees in the long run).

why?
Most sellers just sign up with MP,some love it because they see the money in their bank account.
Some dont,I do not like MP,with Paypal,I can keep the $$ to a round number and transfer it myself

They're not going to ask a private seller who occasionally sells one or two things for documentation. So MP is not a hassle at all for those people, and Ebay is not going to lose any of those sellers. In fact, most would probably prefer to sell their item and have the money simply show up in their bank a few days later.
MP is happening for everyone. It is just a matter of time.

private seller,casual hobby seller,business sellers make no difference ,they all have to go thru the same routine with MP.
You never know,a casual seller could end up a business seller,ask Sam !!

Never seen yet any MP updates on their policy 4private sellers as of today (UK Managed Payments)

Same here pal, it just says 'most sellers' - i guess they'll target private sellers in around 2 years.
