the thing with Paypal is they will string you along until you are beyond the date at which they would be made to pay people back (protection claim) and then they dont give a ****.
Buyers cant file a protection claim, and they aint giving you the cash in the account.
If i get even the slightest sniff that this is what is likely to transpire on any of my accounts i just refund all buyers, send a mass email to customers and tell them to file a SNAD dispute and paypal are the ones who end up out of pocket.
I would rather do it that way than have my cash sitting in paypals account
I would estimate that if i didnt do that i would have around 4k in paypal accounts which they refused to give to me due to not accepting ID, that would really boil my piss but since i do it the way i do it i reckon paypal have refunded about 15k to people who have responded to my SNAD emails.
Buyer wins because they got item and refund, I win (ish) because i dont have to get stressed about paypal stealing my cash and paypal lose because they have to refund people from their own pocket. |

| just_smile | 01-17-2018 05:33 AM | Re: PayPal is not going to release my money after 180 days hold!!! It does shock me how much people leave in paypal...
You run stealth accounts, some (most) sell high risk items, you know paypal are shady and ban accounts easily, yet you leave large amounts in paypal!
Rule number 1. Never leave any funds in paypal you cant afford to lose. |

| Themav | 01-19-2018 09:20 AM | Re: PayPal is not going to release my money after 180 days hold!!! I'm sure I heard it mentioned on here somewhere but if you have a uk PayPal but call USA PayPal and play dumb they are more helpful in getting funds released.
@merlinx @Tahirismail @VLb @ Zamzam - did all of you have working bank accounts attached? I find I run into more trouble if I try to add a new bank account to the PayPal after the 180 days. |
| StealthHarry | 02-18-2018 05:37 AM | Re: PayPal is not going to release my money after 180 days hold!!! There absolute animals and savages PayPal
Holding on to funds for 180 days lool
They've got £1400 on one account of mines
And eBay messaged me about paying a £500 fee they've forwarded it to a DC agency
Hard times for the stealth community lol |
| butler620 | 02-27-2018 09:19 PM | Re: PayPal is not going to release my money after 180 days hold!!! Same boat I’ve got 4K in three PayPal’s. Looking to get the money out and I won’t stop until I do. I don’t care what anybody says but it is not lawfully acceptable for PayPal to keep anybody’s money forever. |
| grant75 | 03-16-2018 07:21 PM | Re: PayPal is not going to release my money after 180 days hold!!! Guys, I have a solution to this. This works in the US, I don't know for sure about other countries but might be worth a try. First off, just keep calling paypal as it's very likely if you get the right representative they'll help you withdraw after 180 days without documents. If that doesn't work, speak to a supervisor at paypal. It might help to have ⊗⊗⊗⊗ docs ready when you speak to a supervisor just in case. If they don't resolve your issue, speak to another supervisor. If that doesn't work, file a Better Business Bureau complaint again them. I've been told by supervisors that legally they have to release the money after 180 days and cannot continue asking for documents. And they especially can't refuse to release the money after providing documents. For UK users, the financial ombudsman can probably assist you as well as they basically have the same power over paypal as the BBB.
EDIT: For some stats, calling different customer service representatives has worked to resolve this around 50% of the time, speaking to a supervisor works around 75% of the time, filing a BBB complaint works 100% of the time but it may take 2-3 weeks to receive a response so it will NOT be a fast resolution. FYI, the regular paypal executive office email does NOT direct to paypal's executive office (executiveoffice@paypal.com). It instead now directs to regular customer service so don't expect that to help you. I have however gotten this issue resolved once after sending 4 emails to this email address. But just know they may or may not respond to your emails and if they do, they may give you a generic unhelpful response.
EDIT #2: Since the OP's paypal account is real and not stealth info, threatening legal action AND actually going through with that legal action if paypal doesn't oblige is another good option. I guarantee you no court in the world will side with paypal on this if you sue them in court. And most likely, paypal won't even show up for the court date so you can get a default judgment against them. Again, IDK about the UK but in the US small claims cases are easy to file, have minimal filing fees, and you can represent yourself (no lawyer fees). I have the upmost confidence that OP can get their funds. |

| paypalpains | 07-11-2018 07:32 AM | Re: PayPal is not going to release my money after 180 days hold!!! Coming back here after a long time I thought I would check some old accounts, realised I have one account from 2015 with 780£ in it, and am unable to get them to release the funds due to them not accepting my ID.
I have submitted new "ID" now with dates that are current , the old ones had expired, the guy said they is why they wont accept them now.
So I will wait this one last time before I take further action.
Anyone had any success with these people in getting funds released please share how you went about it if you do not mind. |

On another thread someone suggested calling US PayPal, haven't tried it yet myself but might worth a go. |
| paypalpains | 09-26-2018 11:10 AM | If you wish to withdraw the money available in your balance, you need to provide the following documents:
- A copy of a government-issued photo ID, such as a passport or driver's licence (the plastic card, not the official letter).
- A proof of address. As proof of address we'll accept a copy of a utility bill (such as a phone, broadband, health insurance, gas, water or electricity), an official government or tax related letter, or any bank or credit card statement. The document must show your full name and address as they appear on your PayPal account and cannot be older than 12 months. The document must be fully legible.
The documents we received from you could not be accepted. Please provide us with a valid document.
We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter and regret any inconvenience it may cause you.
Same old same old, they wont release my money , just keep giving me the run around
