Paypal Now tries to Link LIVE to Bank Account

Just went about setting up a new Paypal Business Account, and, during the process of adding a bank account, paypal tried to get me to log directly into my Bank Account, so that they can confirm the Bank Account, and worse still, that Paypal could access the account name, and incoming/outgoing transactions on the account!

Is this a new process, I have never had this before!

This is a new thing! Use a VCC to verify the account and then you can add a bank account like normal

Paypal automatically generated the Bank name based on the sort code

You can add your details manually, just scroll down on that page

This was new in the USA about 5 years ago. Could be 10 years ago.

ZERO issues at all using the instant method.

you still are live link or as said scroll down and enter manually they send 1p and the 4 digit code to the bank acc to confirm

Has anyone successfully done this? before my account was limited i had no option but to set up live link. When i tried manually, after entering in the details it kept giving me errors. I tried 2 banks

Not sure if this is why i got limited but it wouldnt let me do manual
