Default You May Receive a Call from PayPal Customer Service

Hi set up a stealth Paypal account, real name ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address.
Made some sales paypal verification bank deposits not gone through yet still waiting.

Now when i log in this message appears:
You May Receive a Call from PayPal Customer Service

My number is a VOIP number so it is not active or turned on all the time.
So if paypal calls me number wont work.

Will this cause ne any trouble?

Yes your account will likely be limited if they try to call and the number doesn't exist. Then it will be a laundry list to complete with photo ID and such like required.

You should wait until you have completed verification before you start to sell then you will be less likely to get this sort of problem....

Yes once fully verified is is unlikely Paypal would call AT ALL unless they are considering limiting your account anyway.

You agree with this Jack?

^^^I don't agree. The call is not because they are going to limit: they call to stop doing a limitation IF their questions can be answered. I think that gives a different twist. Still better to have a working phone number, imo.

But the chances of them just ringing to say "hello" or just to chat are very very minimal wouldnt you say?

I have never ever been called at all, only when they are about to limit an account.

But you are definetely right about a working phone number. I was flying by the seat of my pants for a while with a made up dead phone number. ALthough I never had any problems I always link my current mobile phone number to ebay and have a voip number as second.

If I lose the ebay account i get a nice new mobile phone number. Luckily I have no friends at all so I dont have anyone to tell about the number change.

And I never use voip, only to verify ebay if needed, so its best to keep it active and minimised so it can spring into action if ever tested.

Green, do you think its true that if they call they are hoping you can satisfy them to prevent a limitation.

I always had the impression that when they call they are going to limit anyway, they just want to wean as much information from you as possible and anyone eager to keep a Paypal account alive is likely to blab out everything including grandmas inside leg measurement.

I had a call once before a limitation. The trouble was I did not know which Paypal account they were referring to when they asked me to go through security. It could have been 1 of 3 accounts. so i hung up then one of them was limited.

Paypal WILL just phone up randomly. If you are selling a lot, then they will ring up to ask you about your business model, and how their services can be beneficial to your customers.

Believe it or not, if you're running an honest business, Paypal DO have some good solutions to help you sell, when you talk to them personally.
