Selling vero items on ebay

I would have to say vero items are the most profitable. Everyone would like to sell them. Including me. I was wondering what exact documents do you have to provide to ebay for them to let you keep selling vero items on ebay without causing any suspensions to your account.

I can not say for certain but I think you have to provide invoices from authorised sellers of whatever item you are planning on selling.

I've never sold VERO but I understand it is fraught with dangers and the longevity of accounts is not good.

Possibly a rethink of the business plan?

It is not so much eBay. PayPal will require copies of invoices from your supplier. And they ARE checking to see that suppliers are legitimate and that you ARE a client and the invoices are real.

But that is not your biggest problem...

The VERO member does not have to allow you to sell their items at all. Even if they are 100% legitimate. Some brand owners are nice and will allow you to sell as long as you can prove to them that your source of goods is legitimate. Others would prefer that their products never ended up on eBay at all and will refuse to allow you to sell their goods under any circumstances. They have the power. Too much power, if you ask me.

My answer assumes that you are wanting to sell legitimate products that are copyrighted or trademarked. If you are substituting the word VERO for "counterfeit" then the asnwer is that you cannot. It is true that a few years ago it was easy to sell such merchandise on eBay, but those days are long gone. YES, of course there are counterfeits on eBay. But those people selling them always get zapped sooner or later.

Selling VeRo is fine as long as your an authorised seller or have invoices from legit companies that prove everythings authentic and can prove this to ebay & paypal

If the manufacturer or designer etc does'nt mind their products being sold on ebay which a lot do mind increasingly so. However they may still ask for invoices from your suppliers to check your sources of the products - so if its China expect for them not to like this.

A lot of brands want to maintain a certain image and multiple amatuer eBay sellers selling their item is not something they want to be branded with. So they have your listings removed because they can. Genuine or counterfeit.

In terms of what documents, the best are obviously from an authorized source or direct from the manufacturer. As jeff has said, sometimes a brand does not want their items being sold by just any or simply no eBay seller at all, so documents from the grey market can even often make no difference. If you are selling genuine then you would have to contact the manufacturer/vero and work things from there.

When grey-market products are advertised on Google, eBay or other legitimate web sites, it is possible to petition for removal of any advertisements that violate trademark or copyright laws.

This can be done directly, without the involvement of legal professionals. eBay, for example, will remove listings of such products even in countries where their purchase and use is not against the law.

ShadyOne brings up an excellent point.

While eBay (or any other such site) has to respond to takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) they CAN take it further, if they want to. And eBay wants to. They don't want to be known as the place to get counterfeits. They want to be like their idol, Amazon.

So, even if what you are selling is PERFECTLY LEGAL in your country, that does NOT mean that eBay has to allow you to sell it (gray market). You have to remember that eBay is a private company. They can refuse to allow you to sell on their site for any reason they like - as long as they don't run afoul of the anti-discrimination laws.

I just point this out as many people mistakenly think that eBay MUST allow you to sell on their site unless they can PROVE you are selling counterfeits or scamming people. But that is absolutely NOT the case. eBay does not have to prove anything at all. Innocent until proven guilty only applies to your dealings with the legal system, NOT to your dealings with private companies.

It is possible create numerous stealth accounts to sell VeRO, and continue to replace them once they get zapped, but who the hell wants to go through all that trouble? Opening new bank accounts, buying VCCs, phone verifications, etc. It just isn't worth it in the long haul.
