I had an alert on my account yesterday to submit bank statement and photo id which I did.

Woke up this morning and my account was suspended for:

Unfortunately, your selling activity on Amazon does not fit our criteria for the ‘Individual’ Seller Category.

In order to proceed with your registration, we must therefore ask that you update your Seller Category to ‘Business (incl. Partnerships)’ or 'UK Sole Proprietor'.

I am waiting for the engineer to enable the 'Edit' button under my account info page so I can change my seller category.

I am an individual seller and have recently started selling some goods i bought from china as a trial. I dont have a business registered yet. I would appreciate if someone can advice me what seller category to sign up as and if i need to register myself as a business with hmrc in order to continue selling on amazon?

If so then how do i register? what will i need?

As you have sold more than amazon would expect a private non business person to sell you have to update the seller category as amazon have requested.

There in no way around this.

So you set up as a UK sole prop, or limited company.

From experience it is easier to set up a Ltd Co.

So I got the following message few days ago after submitting my utr and the docs provided by hmrc:

Dear Seller,

Good news! Your Selling on Amazon payment account has been activated.

We will get in touch with you if we need more information.

For any assistance relating to Selling on Amazon or other Amazon services, you can search our help pages or contact Seller Support:

I have been logging in on my account from last few days and it still kept saying: Amazon has suspended your Seller Account. Please refer to the email from Amazon to learn more about the status of your account..

So decided to contact amazon seller support and they adviced it can take upto 24 to 72 hours for the account status to change from suspended to active. Its been over 72 hours and my account still shows suspended. Should I contact amazon again? Has anyone had similar experience before?

Email seller support again, this should prompt a faster response.

How many items did you put up for sale? How old was your account? are your items considered high risk etc

all these things should be considered for determining what has flagged your account causing this suspension

You need to get in touch with seller performance through seller central.

Have you the option to appeal.

Emailed seller support last night and woke up this morning with an email from them confirming that the account has been reinstated. Logged in and all looks good!

Think I sold a bit too much which flagged my account and they asked me to change to UK Sole Proprieto, upload utr, passport, bank statement and driving license copy's..

My question is if i start selling again at the same pace.. is there a reason they can suspend my account again even though I have provided them with all the docs and the utr number.

You need to sell slowly, all you have done is verified who you are,you have been dealing with seller-verification.

Sell to much and seller-performance will more than likely ask for supplier invoices etc. Just increase sales 20% per week and good luck.

Does amazon also asks you for vat slips and tax return docs?

Now you are verified all that MAY be requested in the future is supplier invoices to show your goods are original

If your already verified but still showing suspended that means its bug fem az side. You need to contact with seller central. I have had solved similar issue.try to chat seller central CS and let them know rather then open case. just my thought.
