That is a bit ****.. Surely there are drivers for it? Can you extract the SIM and use it in something else?
I've been doing well out of the electronics recycling area at my block of flats - recently found a couple of 7 year old laptops that work and before that a Vodafone PCMCIA SIM-modem. I've popped my current Vodafone SIM in there and it's worked a treat, working just like a normal modem.
I'd like to try it with an 02 Pay as You Go SIM so will see if it still works..
Personally I like to use old PCs for eBay Stealth and keep any new PC squeeky clean for just general browsing on Ebay with a non-stealth, non-selling account and also it's free for others to jump on and check stuff when they come around. Nothing worse than having to explain to people that their accounts may become limited if they use my internet connection - makes me sound a right looser.. I do have to have a clean User set up for friends but that's all.
I've a new IP Broadband address at home since becoming limited and intend to keep it clean.. Also helps prevent mistakes that link if you keep everything physically and mentally separate.
Pay as you go internet on 02 is £15 for 500Mb with 300 mins and you should be able to stick that sim in any third party modem although there are clauses in the terms and conditions that say you're prohibited from using it for IP tethering but don't see how they'll work that out if you only use it for Ebay and no downloading etc - surely no different to using it in a smartphone of any kind?
