Question about confirming your computer
I know that when you try to log onto your ebay accounts from a different computer, ebay asks you to verify your computer. If memory serves me correctly (been a while since I've encountered this), they give a ring to your phone and/or have you verify your security questions.
When I first started making accounts I was careless and did not record my answers to the security questions. In addition, I use tracfones for numbers and don't add minutes to keep each phone active. So a phone call with the number listed could not work for me.
I have a macbook that I operate on, and I back up the computer to an external hard drive frequently. My question is this: If I were to purchase a new macbook and plug in my external hard drive containing my latest backup from my old macbook, could I upload into it all the user accounts and computer/browser/flash cookies or whatever else ebay would use to recognize my computer onto my new macbook? Is it possible to transfer the user accounts and cookies from my old macbook to my new macbook via the back up on the external hard drive, so as not to alert ebay and cause them to hit me with the "confirm your computer" shenanigans?
Thanks guys!
