Re: Verizon Phone Hotspot vs Mifi?
I live in what some would consider a city that's on the beach. to me, being from Miami, its country as hell. my LG phone flashed to $5 a month 3G is as fast as my AT&T 4G Lte when I use ebay and PayPal connected through the cellular hotspot from INSIDE MY HOUSE. From what I read on the XDA forum the person flashing the mifi can use the same doner phone on multiple mifi devices to save money. The more devices that run off the same donor the slower it will be. Also Verizon does updates that most mifi's can not except. This will also make it run slow or stop working all together. Your best bet is the phone which will automatically update and does not need a donor. Before you buy ask these questions. There is suppose to be one or more mifi's that can except updates but cant remember which ones but would still need a donor phone.
This info comes from what I read on the XDA forum so don't attack me if the info I read was incorrect.
The XDA forum is a place you can get the info on how to flash a android to Verizon 3G yourself. But that doesn't mean all the info is correct.
If you add the $15 card to the phone flashed to 3g, you get unlimited data plus text and some minutes but cant remember how many, it might even be unlimited mins. The $5 only gives unlimited data. From the responses I got off sellers on eBay it seems all the flashed phones work this way. Again you'd have to ask the seller to be sure.
Another Plus to the phone is you can check your IP address on the phone instead of using IP Burger or Whoer.net on your computer right before you log into ebay. IP Burger or what ever site you use to check your IP most likely puts cookies on your computer. I'm guessing ebay and paypal can see that and would know you always check your IP address before logging in. If you use the browser on the phone to check IP the cookies are stored on the phone not the computer and ebay should not be able to see them.
I would be willing to bet that ebay & paypal look for aspkin.com and IPBurger.com cookies...
