Activity: 0% Longevity: 64% | | I.P. Address Detection?
I have tried everything but buying a new wireless router.
If I buy a new wireless router will it change the i.p. address effectively?
I called my provider [ Comcast, Xfinity } and they said it will not change my i.p. address if I am wireless. I have a dynamic I.P. and FINALY got into my routers page but there is nothing that allows me to change Mac address.
Again asked comcast about this, they said it is not possible to change the mac address.
Can someone let me know how to change my I.p address?? Been working on this for weeks.
Appreciate it,
Thank You

What you need is modem that's changing mac address is possible. If I were you, go with hotspot, teather, VPS, or Dedicated IP.

In my country is normal to have dynamic IP. It changes every time you switch your router on and off. There must mbe something similar also for US.

It depends on the network providers. Some of them offer Static IP, some of them offer dynamic ones. It seems that your current provider gave you a Static IP and won't change it. So you need a dynamic IP provider. Nice option is to buy a 4G phone with a big data plan, and tether it's connection via WiFi. 4G usb dongle will do the same trick. unplug - plug back - get new ip.

If you are really struggling to change the IP using standard methods then it may be a good idea to look into phone tethering or dongles | The Following User Says Thank You to JamesNorth101 For This Useful Post: | |

I have Comcast also, and when I first started Stealth I couldn't get into my router settings, it took me a week to figure it out
But I called Comcast and they told me that you can't change the IP, but they just tell everyone that and they wanted to sell me Business Internet where you can get Static IP address
But anyway I finally just unplugged everything and plugged the modem and router back in and was able to get into router settings and was able to change my ip
So you can change your IP with Comcast
Your sure you have a Router and Modem and not just the all in one device they are putting in for everyone ??
And if you do have 2 separate devices what Router do you Have??

ALRIGHT. I had comcast before. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ORDER THE BASIC MODEM ( NOT THE ROUTER/MODEM COMBO)
With your own personal router for wifi. Once you have this you can alter your router Mac address or even try router swapping. I like router swapping for the fact that you have a Dedicated IP.

Comcast lies. Do not talk to them about anything. You are on your own when it comes to this. They will treat you like you are a completely, helpless moron.
I have Comcast and can change my IP just by changing routers. I'm not sure what modem you are using, but mine is just a sh*tty Arris DOCSIS 3.0

Thanks everyone.
I do have the all in one router and wireless.
I am going to try and buy a router.
Will replace it and see.
--------
So my next question is, as long as I change my User on the computer so the cookies are not being tracked and I go to IPBurger and my i.p. address is changed , then I am good right?
Thanks again for the help.
Yes Comcast treats you like a moron : )

I need to figure this out I have been gaining crazy for weeks on end ,just to change my IP address. He makes it sound so easy in the book- Thanks

Return it and get the Motorola SB6121 or SB6141.
I set these up in multiple homes for friends and they take me 5 minutes. Then slap on whatever router you want.
All of this activation nonsense can be done without calling Comcast. It's all plug and play.

Will it work for all my devices? Thanks | Both the routers and modems can be had at Walmart for cheap. That includes both Motorolas. That's part of my reason for using them. I can just find them anywhere and pick them up quick.
