Default Suspended after 2 hours

Hi there!

I created a stealth account today, which wasn't stealth enough, I guess, because in 2 hours it got suspended.

First they sent me a message like this:
Quote:
This email is to inform you that we were unable to verify the credit card information you provided. As stated in our Participation Agreement, we require a valid credit card for identity and security reasons. Please update the credit card information on file for your seller account, so you can continue selling on our site.
...and after one more hour:
Quote:
We are writing to let you know we have removed your selling privileges, canceled your listings, and placed a temporary hold on any funds in your Marketplace Payments account. Any new selling accounts you open will be closed.

We took this action because it has come to our attention this account is related to an account that was closed for performance issues or violations of our policies. While we do not provide detailed information on how we link related accounts, we have significant evidence that this account is related to a previously closed account.
I did use one of my personal credit cards to create the account, so maybe they match the amazon account personal information with the CC billing information? I thought they don't, that they only care about the 16 digit card number, exp date and security code on the back of the card.
Otherwise I did the whole 9 yards... Virtual machine, different comp MAC, different router MAC, IP, name, address, phone nr, shop name, password.......

Any similar experiences, thoughts, guesses?
Thanks!

Well, the first problem is the credit card. No, they usually cannot get the address from the credit card company. But that is not the problem.

The credit card address DIGITS (ie. 123 Main St) and the ZIP code must match whatever information you put into their system.

This probably caused the account to be looked at more closely, and they found something else that linked you.

Jeff, only the zip needs to be the same. AVS only confirms zip code. Also the account was linked somehow OP.

Interesting... My previous account was created with a card that didn't match the street number, nor the zip code and the account died because too many sales, not information conflict.

What is this mean... OP? Thanks!

If I buy a card from one of these guys from the forum, how do they match the zip code?

Sorry, but the AVS does indeed verify the digits in an address. You can read about it here...

Well All my cards were verified by using a different address. However it was ONLY when I used a different ZIP code when it failed.

Another way this works is when you go to use a REDBOX, it will ask you for ZIP to verify the card, same way PayPal does.

Ima check into this a bit more though.

Maybe it's up to the merchant to decide how much of your info gets verified?

One of the merchant accounts i use to have i think it was FirstData not sure if it was that one or the other, But in the control panel it had the options to verify complete address or just zip. it also had the option to verify name.
