Default Amazon message: We Don't Recognize This Device

Logged into a stealth account this morning. Amazon came back with a message saying they do not recognize this PC and to make sure it is the actual account owner accessing it, please enter the billing ZIP code of the credit card on file.

Entered the zip code and all seems fine.

BUT: I have never seen this message before and the PC used to log on is the same one that has been used for over a year. No recent changes have been made to the PC and no other Amazon accounts are on that PC. It has its own USB stick used for that account only.

Any ideas???

Did you recently clean your cookies/web history?

When I see something strange I always took a screen shot for reference

I didn't think to take the screen shot. But no, nothing had changed. I never even turn these computers off.

Have there been enough reports from others for this consideration?

Let's avoid urban myths starting

If you use Windows, did you have any downloads?

Offsider told me last night this happened to our Windows account.

I checked and there were no updates. I only use that PC for this account, so I never download anything.

Money came in today from that account and it seems to be operating normally, so I don't think it is an issue, although with Amazon you can never be 100% sure.

I just posted about this as I thought it may be a glitch and happening to others.
