Re: Amazon "New" Two-Step-Verification

Is anyone using a VPN having to keep having the code sent to them every time even though the box is ticked to recognise on computer?

Its annoying!

You can disable two-step in the login settings -> advanced settings :yar:

They have removed that June 30th requirement. Now it just says they will update requirements as they develop new information on the matter. Check it out in the message

We were allowed to turn it off now. It seems like the requirement went away, thank god! lol.

It seems as of today Amazon has not enforced a deadline to activate, good news to all our stealthers :)

Elmo,

What happen if i don't do it. I saw someone posted his account got suspended because he did not do it. My old sim card has been deactivation, so i'm thinking using a different number to do the verification if necessary

Re: Amazon "New" Two-Step-Verification

Its no longer a requirement with a deadline... If you see the notification for two-step its been updated

Re: Amazon "New" Two-Step-Verification

I tried to disable 2 step veri. but after that amz stared to requiring me again, same as first time when its came up so I did it again to not cause problem to my 2nd acc.

What I'm using now is the Hushed app, I paid $30 for 1# unlimited text and calls for 365 days, and then I paid $10 for 2nd number that will expire in 90 days but I can extend it to 365 days as well.

Looks like this will be compulsory from 31st October from the message on account today.

Re: Amazon "New" Two-Step-Verification

Can someone please clarify if we should be worried? I stared seeing these messages like once a day on all Amazon accounts when log in "On October 31, all accounts must be protected by Two-Step Verification. Add this security feature to your account today to ensure uninterrupted access"

Yes I did get the same :(

So what's the hassle? Google Auth App should be the way to go. Don't really understand why you guys are worried about this.

So is this thing a must to log in after October 31 ?

I started seeing the same message on some of my accounts.

Your best / most convenient options are using google voice for the phone # or Authenticator App.

Just make sure to never lose either of them.

Re: Amazon "New" Two-Step-Verification

This is a bit of a nuisance as I have a holiday coming up and won't have much time to get alternative phone numbers.

I take it the Google authenticator app and Google Voice numbers are free and easy to set up?

Do I need both? Google Voice will provide a back up number? Earlier someone posted that it expires in 9 months without use?

I reset my IP address everytime I change Amazon accounts so presumably I won't have to worry about keeping the phone offline?

dachilla 10-12-2017 12:37 AM

Re: Amazon "New" Two-Step-Verification

Can we use the same authenticator app for multiple accounts?

Re: Amazon "New" Two-Step-Verification

How do we get Google Voice in the UK?

Reading through the thread the answer is yes, but keep the app offline as a precaution.
