Bank account....No, PayPal CAN'T see the name associated with the bank account.

if everything is suspended, paypal will hold ur money for 180 days, after that it will be released automatically, then u can add/edit ur bank and withdraw it.

As others have mentioned a bank account is your best bet for withdrawing funds and as a Canadian opening a US bank account is a simple enough matter.
