Sure you can, you can just specify a diffrent shipping address.

But thats why i don't use simon. I usually just go to the store and buy a card, that way I can use the money for whatever

Exactly...Thanks Modee

set up a new account today thanx to simon

I set up a new account today at my local library, so i had a few questions if anyone could help.

1. can i still access my new account from my home computer
( have a laptop, and home computer,.wireless connection

2. when i created the account i didnt enter any paypal information, for i was just going to put imy paypal email in the payment box. But im currently using my friends account w. the same address from my suspended account. Should i stop using his account and make my new email address for my "simon account" the primart address...

( i know its a complicated question but would greatly apperciate an answer,,,thanx.....

first posting new to community,..

ifreewillie 06-12-2007 11:14 PM

1) yes, but ONLY AFTER you clean all your cookies from your computers, and change your IP address.
2) What?... I'm lost after the first sentence. What address are you referring to? Physical address, paypal email address or just an email address? And what are you talking about your simon account address, email or physical? Be clear.

J dub 1984 06-13-2007 08:16 AM

I am usig my buddies account and and put have paypal payments sent to my oringial email i used. I was wondering when I use my simon account if i should change my paypal email address or can i keep the original one ive used on my past 2 accounts..

I tried stuff to change my IP it wouldn't work...I think ill be fine usingit here since I registered the account somewhere else

aspkin 06-13-2007 10:21 AM

First off, eBay doesn't look at the first IP address established as the only IP address. Every time you login, your IP address is checked against other users. If eBay has a match to a suspended user, you will be suspended as well. So not being able to change your laptop IP address and using it anyway will only get you suspended.

And as long as you don't link your eBay and Paypal accounts, you can use any address you want with your Paypal account, if that's what you mean.

Aspkin remeber Ebay will not suspend you based alone on Ip address. They will take a closer look at emails, addresses, auction listings, pictures, etc...

If the IP was the only case then everyone would be getting suspended left and right

simon gift card...help....

I bought a gift card with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info, but I also put a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ phone number, which I apparently need to activate the card. do i need to call from that phone? if so, how do i go about getting a refund for this giftcard, or am i screwed?! Please help, thx

aspkin 06-14-2007 02:29 PM

You should probably trust Simon with your giftcard needs. There is no need to give them a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ number, especially since sometimes they need to contact you for verification. You can call them though with your details.

fedupstayathomemom 06-18-2007 02:50 PM

Okay I have a concern. I just tried to update my ebay account to a sellers account and my prepaid credit card would not work. I contacted ebay live and was told they do not work and I would need to get a real credit card that can be verified in order to open a sellers account. What gives?????

Desperate Househusband: What is the way to get a simon card?

Before I knew that I should have gotten Verified by Visa or Mastercard secure before buying a simon gift account, I attempted a gift card purchase with all 4 of my cards. None worked and now they are blocked. Even after I did Visa Verified and gave the password, it didn't process. I called their tech support who claim the info I am typing in - name and phone doesn't match the credit card company - but the credit card company confirmed that the information is correct and nothing has been refused by them - so it is a Simon issue.

Next, I bought a prepaid VISA from my bank in my name to use but it won't allow Verified by VISA nor will Simon accept it.

The Simon mall in Puerto Rico doesn't issue gift cards or accounts.

I need the card and need the secret to getting the gift account. I have 2 AMEX card but Simon doesn't accept.

I am being working on this for over a week trying to get a new Ebay account!

HELP!

aspkin 06-21-2007 04:34 PM

Why not clear you cookies, and change you IP and sign up for a new simon account, and then try purchasing again with your Visa card.

Yes, you can get one for anyone, for example:

Howdy Doody
123 Elm St
Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Any name and address.

is it a virtual card?

georgesmith 07-17-2007 06:36 PM

It can be virtual or physical. You can even change it to physical after having it as virtual.

Giftaccount = virtual
gift card = physical

LongMan 07-18-2007 06:40 AM

So should you make the card details the same as the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ eBay details?

georgesmith 07-18-2007 11:10 AM

eBay isn't going to accept a credit card that doesn't match th eBay, probably no website would. That pretty much throws up fraud alarms.

JackNoMore 07-18-2007 03:05 PM

How then would you be able to verify that account with the virtual card on paypal if it has to match the ebay information (name, address and all)? Then you're back to the "better hope you don't ever get limited" situation we've talked about before.

georgesmith 07-18-2007 03:23 PM

Well we don't accept paypal as payment. There are alternatives to paypal that are being widely used by eBay sellers.

JackNoMore 07-18-2007 03:28 PM

Unfortunately, not that will allow international trade though. If I wanted to list on ebay Germany for instance, I would have to have a paypal account, linked to my ebay. Regardless of whether I would prefer to take other payments. Sure I could send them invoices, but with the link and the paypal being there already, there's a good chance that's the payment you would end up with.

georgesmith 07-18-2007 03:58 PM

I setup worldwide delivery for my auctions.
You either have to select paypal or merchant account when setting up your auctions.

JackNoMore 07-19-2007 11:48 AM

Right but there's a difference. If you did want to list on an international site (there are reasons), the limit does apply. I've found that when you go straight to the source, it can make a great deal of difference. It also depends on what you sell of course, whether or not it is more desired or less in your country vs others.

georgesmith 07-19-2007 12:23 PM

If you select worldwide shipping you'll get listed in "from international sellers" on the other eBay sites. I have had quite a few inquiries on my auctions from users from the netherlands, and a few other countries in Europe. It seems to work well.

JackNoMore 07-20-2007 09:24 AM

True, but your auction will appear at the *bottom* of the other listings, in a small space which rotates out. If you're lucky, you'll appear in that area, otherwise, the interested party will have to select to view all the other listings in order to even SEE your auction. When you sell items more desired *outside* your country than *inside* that's a big handicap. It's much easier to just list in the native currency on the native site, and be listed in the top area where you'll be sure to be seen.

georgesmith 07-20-2007 10:41 AM

Well I guess I can ask only for so much for my single auction fee. I think you can get plenty of exposure if you select worldwide shipping, always depends though on the product you are selling. Might be more difficult if theres a million and one of what you are selling.

try to buy a vcc to register in ebay and another one to get verified with PP.
there are plenty of sellers that sell those cards in talkgold forum only from $7 to $14 each. and they will give the 4 digits number to get verified and you can put any addresses you want.

Simon Gift Account or Simon Gift Card??? Need to get my new account started!!!

I just went to the site (Simon) and saw that they offer both.
I thought that I would ask here first before reading on, plus I resepect the opinions of the members here based upon their experience.
I am assuming that you could get up and running quicker with the Gift Account, but would that be accepted by ebay? I will only use this card for establishing and paying for fees associated with a new ebay account, so I don't need to be able to take the card with me for actual physical purchases...might at some point use it to make other online purchases.

Also, my ebay fees would only be $50-100/mo for now. I don't have a lot of money to put into the new CC for now so how much should I start with?

What are the monthly fees that they charge to keep the account active and how much to add say $100 each moth to be able to keep ebay happy by paying them. Is the load fee based on the amount or just a flat fee any time you add funds to the card?

Or by adding a new email (the one that I registered at ebay) to PP could I just keep the card on file and add the new (and for now accepted by ebay) email to my PP account and pay the monthly fees through PP? Could I also use this newly created PP/EB email to accept payments at ebay...say through the automated checkout or would I be better off using something like Andale or Auctiva (although I am not at all familiar with how they work) or will this just not work at all?

Also can this be used for receiving payment as a credit or "load" for any online checkout services?

If anyone has experiences with the other cards like these, I'm all ears, but please explain the fees for those.

Sorry I got off into sevral different directions, but I think this information is somewhat related and would be particularily useful to a lot of for others like me in getting back into the "exclusive" ebay country club;)

Thanks everyone

What you want is the Gift Account. You can send the gift from your real info to your ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info. ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Name Generator (This site is pretty cool, just choose an address close to you.) . It takes about 24 hours for the email to show up in the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ account. Once you get the email, follow the link to create your ⊗⊗⊗⊗ account at Simon. Use the same ⊗⊗⊗⊗ personal information that you will use for Ebay and Paypal.

Just get a $20 card. As long as you keep a balance the card will remain active if ebay checks. I used about $17 of the card buying $1.25 items to up my feedback for buy it now.

The monthly fees are not charged until after 12 months, then it's like $1.50 a month. I think it cost $5 to buy the card though. Unfortunately you cannot recharge the Simon gift account. I have not found a virtual card that can.

I would just use your ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info and create a new Paypal account. No point in risking it down the road. All you need is another checking account from your bank. As of yet Paypal does not check the name on the checking account that you use to get verified Premier. If down the road they do start checking I think a lot of us will be at the courthouse getting a DBA or LLC.

No, again I haven't found any virtual card that will. I think it's the whole Patriot Act thing.

Thanks for the questions Dogfaceboy, I think a a lot of people would appreciate this info.

DogFacedBoy 08-14-2007 04:45 PM

Wow, what a great reply!
I don't have the time to check all of this out right now, but I sure will later tonight.

aspkin 08-14-2007 06:06 PM

Gift Account is what you want.

His great reply and my crap one. :)

tyandlayne 08-15-2007 10:05 AM

Wow This is the same question I had, I need a Simon Card for another account, so when I purchase it I would use my real info and then use a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name for the person I am sending the card to (which would be me) and use that same info for my ebay account am I correct on this one? PLEASE REPLY..
ALSO can I use this to open up a paypal account I need a new one? But I cannot open up a new checking account with a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name regarding the deposit amounts they ask for can you clear this up for me.. I really appreciate everyones help...

JackNoMore 08-15-2007 02:14 PM

Why does no one mention giftcards.com anymore? Did they do something bad when I wasn't looking or does Simon just have better advertising?
