Simon still good for EBAY PayPal? Using Simon - General problems / issues with Simon

well im on my long journey back to ebay selling since I got some more junk to unload because im going to disneyworld gotta sell it to make some money. I currently have 19 feedbacks and had my account for 2 months now I believe.
actions taken:

-made my new email address my primary on paypal
-bought new simon card for ebay
-setup a new photobucket imaging account
-my IP address is totally different and have not touched my banned account now for maybe 4 months

hope all is well for my journey back to ebay to selling and getting rid of my junk.

rapunzel_01 03-06-2007 03:36 PM

Also, is this an entirely new PP account? Otherwise, do not link. Read the http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-su...back-ebay.html.

it was a buyers account I set up afte I got suspened now I need to sell again to fund a summer vacation. Its not a entirely new paypal account I added an email to it and made the new email (the one email I made with the new ebay account) the primary account email now.

rapunzel_01 03-07-2007 04:51 PM

well just an update the simon card came in the email today and its working great I have it registered with ebay and also now it seems ebay askes for bank info so they ask for two pieces of info now vs one last time I registered. I put in the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ bank account number as stated, but used a real routing number. I will list something tonight and see if it gets booted or something.

Ebay doesn't care what brand your CC is from, as long as they are able to verify it. I have gift cards from chase and other banks and they don't work bc Ebay can't verify it.

aspkin 04-26-2007 07:26 PM

It's not true, eBay as "ihatebay" says doesn't care what brand you're using, as long as the card works.

BackToEbay 04-26-2007 08:54 PM

I bought TCF BANK GIFT VIAS CARD
CANT VERIFIED BY EBAY
Don't know whether it is work for simon's gift card

feelin snarky 04-27-2007 12:28 AM

I used a simon card on ebay 3 weeks ago, it worked fine.

Simon.com - how to use for EBAY. General Simon questions

What do I buy on Simon.com to be used to create a new account on ebay? The Giftcard or the Giftaccount?

Does the name/address provided on the giftcard/account be the same as the one you are registering for ebay? I read it somewhere it is changable (but is it the giftcard or giftaccount that is changable?).

aspkin 04-30-2007 10:55 AM

Giftaccount, these are virtual credit cards sent to your email address.

ifreewillie 05-01-2007 07:17 AM

Does the name/address provided on the giftcard/account be the same as the one you are registering for ebay?

FeeBay Balling 05-01-2007 03:33 PM

When I setup the card I use the address I placed on ebay/paypal as well as the email address I will be selling using that card.

I do not think that the information is shared but what people have to remember is that when the card is charged the name can appear on a merchant slip.

Next time you go to a store and use a credit card look at the slip that you sign, most of the time your name appears at the top of the slip. This would be true for ebay as well, in case they have someone monitoring or checking what appears against the number used.

Simon Gift Account

Simon gift account also needed to be actived by your phone number before use. If I put my phone number to active Simon card, can EBAY find my phone number. I put my phone number on my suspended ebay account already. Thanks!

aspkin 05-02-2007 02:45 PM

Simon and eBay are in no way connected they share nothing.

BackToEbay 05-02-2007 02:55 PM

aspkin, thanks for your informtaion.

Simon still good for EBAY? Using Simon on EBAY - General problems / issues with Simon

I ordered the Simon card and still didn't get the email and called just now, said it would take at least 2 days . Why it took too long

aspkin 05-05-2007 04:16 AM

Aye, at first it took me about 2 days to receive my first card. But after that it was less then 24 hours. They're a good solid company; don't worry about not receiving what you order.

ebay100 05-05-2007 03:20 PM

At albertsons they have a Visa unreloadable Gift Card.. This I hope will work

it is and ALL ACCESS Gift card for 25.00 I will give it a try.

EB100:D

aspkin 05-05-2007 05:15 PM

Yeah, I've used several different prepaid cards. Simon's cards are the easiest and less time consuming one yet. You can use any card that's never been attached to an eBay account though. Simon is just an option and if you use it correctly a money saver as well. :p

ebay100 05-05-2007 10:01 PM

Great ..this one is easy but you have to verify to use for internet purchases via call or on line but you do not have to wait like simon ..will see if all works.

Thanks EB100

Problems with Simon.com Giftcards

So I bought two of their cards 45 days ago. They never delivered them. A month ago they said the account was on hold and to call their loss prevention number and always rings busy and doesn't answer the phone. I call them today, 45 days later, demanding a refund and they do nothing and either tell me to call that number or else they just stick me on hold forever and ignore me.

So beware simon.com. Steals money and gives you nothing.

Giftcards.com on the other hand does actually give you what you pay for.

CPUGEEK 05-17-2007 04:56 PM

Yeah, they are shady sometimes.

Jonas 05-18-2007 03:09 AM

Well after being harsh with one of their Indian phone reps and threatening a chargeback and waiting on hold forever and explaining that the cards were for myself to make new ebay accounts they finally reversed them in a process that took 15 minutes each for them to find and remove on the computer. They now say wait two to three weeks for it to post to my card.

This is from there terms and conditions. Simon don't keep your money but hell if you don't use the money on the card within the expiration date(which is like a year from the time you buy it) then you arent too pressed over the lost money anyway.....

Expiration

"The Giftaccount is valid through the expiration date shown on the front of the reference card provided to you when the Giftaccount was opened and in the "My Accounts" section of Simon Malls | More Choices - The Prepaid Visa debit Gift Card and Visa Gift Account from Simon.com or until the value on the Giftaccount reaches zero, except where prohibited or modified by applicable law. When the Giftaccount expires it will be closed and any unused balance will be handled according the state escheatment law. If there is a balance remaining after the expiration date, you may call 1-866-885-6320 to request that a new Giftaccount be opened as allowed in accordance with applicable law. The new Giftaccount will have a value equal to the remaining balance of the expired Giftaccount minus an Expired Account Fee in the amount shown in the section of this Agreement captioned "MetaBank Fees". The expiration date on the new Giftaccount will be at least 20 months from the date the new Giftaccount is opened. "

But I like to keep ONE DOLLAR on the cards indefinitely, because that is all you need to get them verified to open accounts on EBAY and other places with.

I opened account as low as .15 cent on a card

JackNoMore 05-19-2007 10:43 AM

So could you use the Simon card to make a payment on any account (just like paypal) or when you register with that card, are you pretty much stamping it with that account from then on (due to the address you input), meaning you have $20 or so tied up in it that you'll eventually have to use? How flexible is that card? Obviously I haven't been in the position yet to have to order one, but I've been darned close a couple times. The suggestion another member made about using one card to buy others is a good one, but aside from that, what can you do with the card but just use it to pay fees on that account or perhaps buy gas or something? If you tried to use it in the store and they asked for ID you'd be having to explain some things. They might even turn you in for ID theft if that information is on the card!

We are using virtual cards , not the physical cards....

JackNoMore 05-19-2007 12:55 PM

Ah, ok. But that still leaves the question of what you can use them for. If it's tied to that one bogus address registered with ebay, you could only use that card for that one account on ebay and not for purchasing anything anywhere else online correct? Because otherwise, wouldn't it be sent to that address?

What! Man it is a credit card .. You can use where ever the hell you want to use it...lol:)

JackNoMore 05-19-2007 03:13 PM

You're not getting my meaning. If the card is registered with that address only (as Modee pointed out), it would be limited to be used only on that one account. You couldn't use it to buy something because if it was delivered, you'd never see it. It would go to Bob Jones in BFE. Not you.
