Simon card LOCKED at sinmon site

I know of someone who tried to get a simon card but tried to sign in with the wrong password to activate the card and they froze the account for 24 hours.

It's been a WEEK now and it's still frozen.

Emails to simon.com get the reply of -- tell us the last 4 #'s in the credit card and we'll unfreeze it.

But don't you have to get in to activate it to get those #'s ?

Doesn't make much sense to me.

Chris,

About 10 days ago, I did buy 2 Simon cards and was able to create 2 eBay accounts with these cards. Maybe some numbers are the problem. I have noticed that each card's last 8 digits have increased. I have a total of 9 cards still active and the first 8 digits have remained the same.

ebaykilla 11-12-2007 03:58 PM

i haven't been blocked lately....why do you ask?

Jenilyn1980 11-12-2007 11:26 PM

I use simon gift cards and vanilla visa and have never had a problem opening a paypal or ebay account yet...opened an ebay account yesterday with vanilla visa

citeeofangels 11-13-2007 03:19 AM

simon.com question - what name should I enter as recipient?

hi everyone, i'm about to purchase the virtual cc from simon.com, am i suppose to create a profile or do i just skip login and go directly to purchasing the cards? also, if i have to put the real names and address to purchase from simon.com, ebay wont be able to link them to the suspended accounts right? thanks!

aspkin 11-13-2007 04:03 AM

This has been talked about all over the forum. Just buy a giftcard with your real information, and use the same ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information you used when signing up with eBay when registering the card.

Chris Hanson 11-13-2007 05:19 AM

Oh okay. i was getting worried. alot of people were stating that they were having problems

vers0 11-13-2007 10:42 PM

Problems are user related...Like most PC problems are work.....:)

Chris Hanson 11-14-2007 12:02 AM

hahaha.. yeah I like that one.. I call it user error

DogFacedBoy 11-14-2007 04:40 PM

Right, the cards are intended to be used as gifts, so there is no reason to use a CC in your name to buy a GC in your name.

SECondplaygames 11-18-2007 04:19 AM

ebay & I offer both said my simon gift account was an invaild cc number? Any one else have trouble using a virtual simon gift account on ebay? Whats the soultion? I had to have it converted into a physical card.

ebayhateluv 11-18-2007 04:28 PM

HI- went through almost 30 ebay accts in last 6 weeks- so alittle knowledge?? ANYHOW, those cards at the grocery store are working perfectly, they took down 7 this week, i set up 9 more, sitting on almost 50, aged 30 dys+. READY FOR THEM.. the simon cards are nice, but when they pull an acct, you cant take it and get gas, as its virtual. I just used a vanilla visa bought at staples today, works fine, it was 3.95+ the $25. when the accts go down, take that card + fill up or use anywhere. Giving ebay their $5, then thats it...

wmugrad05 11-18-2007 10:58 PM

for simon gift card check your nearest locations I found a simon gift card store right at my local mall got the card 1,2,3

vers0 11-19-2007 04:11 AM

I have only used Simon card without any problems. VC card are a new trend and I don't think Simon will stop offering those cards. Its possible that they are performing some maintenance or upgrades.

305 11-19-2007 06:11 AM

they are back online now, it was off sunday. btw just go to the mall and buy them

mycat2 01-05-2008 12:45 AM

About the Recipient phone of simon gift card

I made a ⊗⊗⊗⊗d name and address for the Recipient .How about the Recipient 's phone number? Is it safe to use my real home phone number which is in a suspended account??

thelizardking 01-05-2008 02:30 AM

No it has to be a new number.

woodant 01-05-2008 11:00 AM

Is Simon dead?

Recently I tried several times to buy a giftcard on simon.com
But after placed the order, always got the error message: the simon website is currently unavailable.
Did someone meet the same problem?
Thanks

marche 01-05-2008 12:53 PM

i wonder if anyone can buy a simon gift card / giftaccount for me? the simon website keeps saying an error

mycat2 01-05-2008 01:54 PM

How can I get a new number? I need to activate the card by that number. It's need to be a real number, right?

Dutch 01-05-2008 05:33 PM

hateebaymorethanyou 01-05-2008 07:26 PM

woodant 01-05-2008 08:21 PM

ebayhateluv 01-05-2008 09:20 PM

What browser are you using? Firefox seems to giving errors and Explorer isn't.

keceli 01-06-2008 04:19 AM

Are you saying that when verifying Credit cards they asl verify your registered phone numbers besides your address?
so you cant use a different credit card (different name)with an old address and phone numbers?
this one is tricky...

marche 01-06-2008 05:04 AM

I'm also getting an error (am using IE7)

"The Simon Giftcard site is currently unavailable.
We're sorry. An error occurred while processing that request. Please
select the return button below and try again"

aspkin 01-06-2008 05:54 AM

Geez.... I've brought Simon so much business.

AFFILIATE SYSTEM PLEASE SIMON!! Lol

marche 01-06-2008 06:15 AM

are there alternatives to simon giftaccounts and giftcards.com? virtual prepaid cards?

thelizardking 01-06-2008 12:23 PM

I sometimes use deluxe-card, its NOT vcc but sometimes I like to get the plasic just incase I get suspended right away and I can use it for gas and cigs...which I can't with vcc...the deluxe-card you can register to anyone..there are many different vcc's..search the board you'll find some good ones.

thelizardking 01-06-2008 12:39 PM

I have used the AOL interface before and it worked, which is IE...maybe try that or try again after the weekend..might be something on simons end...

No, I mean when I buy the simon gift acct, they need a recipient's phone number to activate the acct. The recipient is myself indeed. So can I use my home phone number to activate the simon gift account? My home phone number is in a suspended ebay acct.

mycat2 01-19-2008 01:26 PM

ebay will chager my simon card soon

I receive a invoice today. The invoce amount due is $7, I have $20 in that gift account. I asked the CS, it's too late to mail a money order now.
My concern is that if ebay charge my gift account, they will know it's VCC which has little money in it, and ban me again.
Anyone can help me??

powerbid 01-19-2008 01:32 PM

why not pay one time fees using paypal.. dont login to your paypal just use without logging in service and pay via any credit/debit card.. simple isnt it?

Is it safe??? Will ebay link my acct to a suspended acct? Because I use the same credit card to pay ebay fee.

rond100 01-19-2008 05:03 PM

Go buy a new gift card and pay your fees only if you want to continue listing on this account. Do not link your accounts if you can avoid it. I would start a new account for later.

Last time I checked, eBay doesn't ban you for this. As long as the payment goes through, you'll be fine. Do what the others suggested and get another prepaid to pay your balance.

Jonas 01-19-2008 09:15 PM

In my experience ebay doesn't ban you until two months after not paying.

Even if you get your card declined all the time, as long as you end up paying it's fine.

On my merchant account I get every other buyer who has trouble with their card working, mostly because I make the street address and zip code match to prevent chargebacks.

imjustme 01-19-2008 09:31 PM

They won't know if it's a gift card or not, for all they know you could be past your credit card limit.
