How long to get Simon virtual card?
 

Hi, I signed up for a simon gift account (the virtual one) a few hours ago and I'm still waiting to get my confirmation. How long does this normally take?

It took about 3-4 hours for mine

24-48 hours if you're a first time buyer

I used Firefox and Verified Visa card. But it till not go thru. I have no way to order this gift account. Any body can help ?

I used Verified Visa by Bank Of America, and brownser is Firefox, IE

Then Mastercard from Wamu, using Safari from Macbook, Firefox.

I tried so many times without successful.

I am so depressed, and don't know why.

Please help ! Or if you could buy me one. I will pay you back. Thank you !

If simon doesn't work, just go to a local store and buy a prepaid card there. All the stores I know have cards that work just like a credit card and can be used online.

Do you know what kind of prepaid cards could make a confirm Paypal address ?

Like "Confirmed Address", so I could request for Debit Card.

Please give some advices !

I've never done this before, and it all seems a bit confusing..

When I purchase the Simon card and use the email version, is there a particular email address I should send to ? (for example: the email address I will use on file with ebay) and since my information as the sender is legit, should the information I use to send the card to (recipient) be the alias name that I use to setup my account with on ebay ??

just use any email address you use. also, you are correct. The information you use to send the card to needs to be the name/address that you used to setup the ebay/pp accounts

Can you still use simon cards with ebay. I just tried today and it said that tghe cardholder is not accepted by ebay.

I am getting error message also and can't purchase Simon account. I want it to lift PayPal $500 a month limit. I already have checking account and related debit card verified, but they want another cc # so they lift this limit. I wonder if Ebay/PP read this posts and than simply ban things that work for us?

I keep reading that Simons accounts are not accepted by Ebay/PayPal any more? Anyone can verify that? If so, what is the best replacement? Thanks.

Theres a card called Vanilla that is a prepaid visa, those still might work. There was another prepaid visa that was at Phoenix AZ malls. I cant remember the name. Let me do some research. Anyways, When simon cards were getting slammed as suspicious I turned to these on a vacation and it worked wonderfully.

I really liked the idea of gift accounts as opposed to having a peace of plastic mailed to me. Appears that only Simon had those virtual instant gift accounts..

I finally got Simons gift account, but when tried to use it to lift the 500.00 limit, it tells me it can issue a 4 digit number with this card? Anyone has this problem?

It CAN NOT issue a 4 digit numer.. What am I supposed to do? They ask me to add another cc or social? What am I supposed to do if Simons gift account does not work with PP to lift 55.00 limit? Anyone, please advise! Thanks in advance...

just tried to register an ebay account with the same number that worked before. ebay said it was not an allowed brand.

I personally have not used Simon in about 3 weeks, so I cannot comment Intelligently, but last month-Simon WAS working.
Other methods I do use, that I can Confirm working as of TODAy:
--- All Access Gift Cards--available at Wawa Gas Stations, 7-11 Stations, Most Grocery Store Chains, The Vanilla MASTERCARDS, which I have purchased at Kroger Grocery Stores
I also use Gift2go (dot) net, which I get at Walgreens, they are Yellow, starting price $30.
I also use OneGreatGiftCard (dot) com, which i get at the Local Shopping mall--they start at only $20, with a $3.95 fee.
--As for Ebay FEES--Besides the gift cards--what I do--is generate the Ebay Payment sheet-whihc has an ebay account number--then I estimate what it will be for the month-and i send a cashiers check..

Simon Cards - Update
 

Yesterday I went to a Simon Mall and purchased 3 cards at 2.00 each. I registered them on Simon site and they AVS verified just fine on PP and I was able to activate the PP Plugin.

Still no problems or PP blocks.

Simon gift cards Error message
 

I have tried for two days to get a Simon Gift Card with both my Mastercard Debit cards and I keep getting the same message that there is an error in the processing and to try again. I even called the bank where these cards are from and they say that the Simon requests never even came through and these cards do work. Is anyone able to buy a Simon Gift Account with a Mastercard Debit card. That is all I carry. I will apply for a debit card with my Business bank account but this takes time. I was hoping to get this done right away. I don't understand this because in the application for a Simon Gift Account you have the option of paying with Mastercard on the form - but it just never goes through. I have tried this with Safari and Firefox - same result. What could I be doing wrong?

Brendaleigh, Are you trying to purchase the Simon Giftcard or the Simon Giftaccount?
If it's just the card, you can purchase one in Topeka (if it's not too far to drive)
I'm sure there are other gift credit cards available in your area, though.

I have finally determined that Simon.com will not work if you pay with Mastercard. They have Mastercard as an option but I tried several Mastercards and none of them went through. I found out that Simon.com had never even notified the bank of this transactions I was attempting and all the cards were well within their limits -so, at least for now -Mastercard will not work. Bummer.
As far as I can see, Simon is the only CC you can get immediately (2-4 hours) online. I went ahead and used Gift2Go and it is being mailed to me -not as convenient but what are you going to do?

BRENDALEIGH, have you tried contacting simon at all and ask them what you can do? I suggest giving them a call and figuring it out.

does the simon card still allow you to become ebay seller approved, now that ebay has its "verify your identity" requirement for new sellers? I am a bit confused about how to use the simon card within that requirement (or to circumvent it). Thanks for any assistance.

It seems like people have had this problem in the past and it has nothing to do with the credit/debit card I am using. Anyone else like to chime in?

Simon Giftcards NOT working with Paypal Anymore!
 

I just wanted to warn/caution/let everyone know that Simon giftcards may no longer be a viable option with Paypal, as a credit card for verification.

I sold some items on one of my Stealth accounts, and like I'd read on one of the threads on this forum, I did NOT set up the Paypal account until AFTER payment was sent. But after I set up the PP account, I added the Simon giftcard so that I could transfer the funds to my legitimate PP account which I have a MC debit card for, that I could use to get cash, etc.

But after I added the Simon giftcard, and tried to transfer the funds, I got an error message saying that I could not send, transfer or withdraw funds using that card as verification.

I don't know if there is just something suspected of my account, or whether heaven forbid this is foreshadowing of future events to come when gift cards and pre-paid cards and pre-paid cell phones are eliminated as a means for verification on eBay and Paypal.

Interestingly, my PP account does NOT say that it has been limited. Just that I need to add a verified bank account to access the funds.

A Quick Easy Question for Simon GC

I just went ahead and purchase a simon GC. I know in order to verify with ebay and paypal with this gift card the information must match the one we enter at simon website (address, name, etc). But I was wondering does the phone number have to match as well? And is it mandatory to enter a phone number on simon website when activating this card so I can use online? Thank you guys. The phone number does not matter for ebay/pp. It is just to verify your card with simon.
