Even with my merchant account the application process only took about 48 hours. 5-7 days is crazy. It seems like eBay is finally tired of stealth accounts, and they're getting rid of them. | If eBay really abolishes PayPal in 2023 it could be 10 times harder to run stealth accounts to say the least.
Ayden could be like Amazon with the seller having to provide SS# and a working bank account right at signup. This becomes very problematic because Amazon is known to dig into the bank information you give them if you start doing serious volume and ban people if the bank info does not match the signup info. So with stealth you won't ever be able to grow stealth accounts into massive, profitable accounts possibly.
All you people on here that were in celebration and so happy to see PayPal gone in the future when eBay broke the news of it in 2018 I'm sure will regret the golden age of stealth accounts that PayPal made possible.
Adyen more than likely will make operating costs for running stealth accounts go way up and that's not even considering the fate of each account. What I fear is that if they do their own internal risk assessment like a credit card processor and want to run a credit check on you. If they decide to do so and very probable for accounts doing big volume.
It's possible that only the no life relentlessly hard working cut throat enigmas are going to be able to survive with stealth on Adyen.
