The Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) Programme lets intellectual property rights owners request the removal of listings on eBay that offer items or contain materials that infringe on their rights.

Vero does not mean F@ke!!!

If company ABC does not want their items sold on eBay all they have to do is ask eBay to remove item# 1234567890.
It does not mean that the item is a counterfeit item.
It means that company ABC does not want YOU selling their product.
This is why some people complain when truly Authentic items are removed from eBay under the VERO umbrella.
This happens ALL the time.

I know I originally thought it meant genuine or knockoff, but I have learned the true meaning since being a member here.

VERO can be counterfeit or ⊗⊗⊗⊗, but they don't remove because of the latter.

So WTF EBAY wanting these issue to go ahead n ahead??I mean 90% of item over the world come with a brand. So if in case, just in case.1 day all these companies told ebay "don't allow our item on your site without our permission!" then EBAY going to shut down or what???VERO is like bullxxxt man...EBAY have to make a certain ruleable policy to cover everybody..Especailly those selling authntics..Its a free world. You can even sell it on street as long as you are legal. Why not on EBAY?? If they keep adding brand lists up then the sellers will be less n less.. Finally the biggest victim is themself???Do they want to be a brand store that only allow those "direct companies" to do business??Thats not what ebay created for and standing for??It just an internet flea market as long as I understood about EBAY's history..

Selling VERO items is much better than knockoff items.
Knockoff items = completely illegal.
VERO items = Might get taken down, not illegal to sell.

Finally the biggest victim is themself???Do they want to be a brand store that only allow those "direct companies" to do business??Thats not what ebay created for and standing for??It just an internet flea market as long as I understood about EBAY's history.. | The VERO program exists because of the digital millenium act that ebay must follow according to the law. They MUST conform to this since it is the law. VERO is easy to squash, just keep receipts for your items, if you get it pulled by VERO, ask ebay for the VERO's direct contact email (if you're a powerseller, they'll call you directly if you get a VERO, you can ask for the vero members contact info there) Most VERO just don't want their items being counterfeited and they're trying to protect their rights. VERO like Disney are agressive because there's so much going on there. I've had VERO pulled on me for items with stock images. There's absolutley nothing for them to go by except for randomly grabbing one of the listings out of the "herd" so to speak. So I send an email telling them I understand their interest in protecting their rights, however I purchased this item at "xxxxxx" and here's a picture of the reciept. And that usually gets' it fixed right away. They inform ebay and the violation is removed from your account. You still have to take that tutorial you get after an MC019, but your record is clean.
If you do successfully win the vero, DON'T start listing their stuff again, they'll watch you to see if you start listing their stuff in bulk, then you can't proceed with a reciept excuse anymore. Another very agressive VERO is Beachbody, don't sell the P90x on Ebay because it'll bring heat on you real quick, and don't buy that product expecting to sell it on Amazon either, Beachbody doesn't want anyone other than Amazon, themselves and a few featured merchants carrying that item, and Amazon will block it on you eventually, then you'll be stuck holding the bag on a bunch of merchandise that you can only sell through craigslist.

Thanks for posting this. I was another user who was under the misconception that VeRO items and ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items were supposed to be the same thing. Interesting read.

Actually vero has become a slang word for ⊗⊗⊗⊗ on this site, knock off is a bad look alike without the name or tradmark, ⊗⊗⊗⊗ is a good or bad look alike with the name or tradmark, the stuff that gets you busted and the original meaning of vero is given above.

I listed a popular item on Ebay and it was pulled down for VERO. I listed it again a week later under another stealth account and BAM, it's pulled down again - VERO. This identical item is being sold every day by at least 60 different sellers and making a huge profit. Why are my listings taken down and others go on and on daily? Pics were two different pics, different backgrounds, items were rearranged and taken with my camera. Other sellers use stock photos as well as their own photos and get away with it. What's up with that and how can I get my listings to stay? One was BUY NOW and one was auction. Any ideas?

Some items they don't like you to sell unless you have more established selling history of related items.

Thanks for the info. I also have a older account that is a legit account, just not in my name. It belonged to a relative and they don't do Ebay anymore so I'm using that account. It's about three years old and I don't want to risk getting it suspended or getting VERO warnings, but I did sell a couple items on that account, just listing one item a week, and had no problems.
Do you think it's safe to sell one or two items a week on the older account? Since it's older and has good feedback, Ebay will leave me alone?

Activity: 0% Longevity: 82% | | IP address is the problem
Soon or later if you are using the same IP address on another account, I will be suspended for this reason: the account is suspended because it was related to another account that was suspended.
So you should change the IP address before start using new account.
