MC011 - does SSN work as ID?

They very specifically asked us to re-upload docs with the ebay USER ID on every document. This was last week.

I sent in severals sets of docs in the last 3 months and was not asked to do so , it is likely an exception

I've just uploaded a photo of a passport and it's been accepted, I find it hard to believe they'd want folk to tamper with a clean, original image. There's certainly no mention of it in any of the requests I've had.

I simply can't see what purpose it would serve given the upload portal is accessed from the account being verified.

There is different wording from what I have experienced. I think when it says ask for username it is coming from an older email format, which I believe indicates its a manual review as opposed to algorithms. Likely back end higher up trust & safety. I could be wrong but I defiantly have seen eBay ask since 2015 to include "username on all documents". I haven't had enough MC011's to know enough, but that's my best speculation.

As for needing to include that, no you don't. I don't know what conditions Yankee is referring too. I suppose if an agent actually requests it by notating the account to have this, you would need too. I have passed document requests where they ask for this and I don't do it, and spoken with enough people to know it's usually not needed.

These work from home people really cause problems. Back before 2020 you could call merchant support, and they were in the same building as this back end team. So you could call enough if need be, find that right person and they'll walk to that side of the building and talk to someone, problems got fixed on the phone. And if it wasn't you increased chances substantially. It's different now, from what I see.
