Question More and more stores coming to ebay real brands, why?

Why are more and more brands like acer, sony, etc are coming to sel on ebay. More profit from them? Ebay should be about sellers not about brands selling over us or am i wrong?

Yeah I noticed that, it's a little annoying looking for products and you see stores like tigerdirect offering the same prices as they're website.

As for actual brands, I'm going to assume that once they start selling on ebay, they probably monopolize alot of their products and have other sellers taken down, or forced to sell at MSRP?

Money for ebay from the larger corporate entities is the reason.

There will be sweet-heart deals for these companies.

e/b is not interested in small/medium sized sellers anymore and haven't been for a long time now.

They want to be just like Amazon, that's their goal and we all suffer as a result of it.

In the end they will find the small seller is actually a lot more important but it'll take a good CEO to figure that out

I also see larger clothing companies getting on the band wagon.

This is what Meg Whitman tried to do many years ago is wipe out the small folk and turn it into this.

Issue is it might be great for ebay but smart shopper will find that you can go right to their website and find it cheaper!!

I have teen daughter who goes through clothes like most people do food and learn I can go right to a website and buy it for little bit cheaper.

Dont be fooled.

The big brands are loosing market share everyday in retail stores. It is becoming difficult to only sell to retail stores. Malls are closing fast. At the same time they are trying to fight these online sellers from undercutting the prices on ebay. So what can they do, with an online market they cant control and prevent?? If you cant beat em, join em. They have to sell direct. The days of manufacturers selling wholesale only are over. They will continue to sell wholesale, but expect them to compete right along side you.
10 years ago - manufacture to distributor to retail to consumer.
Now its manufacture to consumer, thats it.

I hate to say it but I really miss Meg. eBay was more of a yard sale back then. The FVF fees where about half what they are now. eBay has become so commercial it is rediculous.

Same with Google.

Big G eliminated 100s of thousands of Affiliates about a year or so ago. They could care less about smll business.

Google wants companies who spend tens of millions per year, especially with Adwords.

All smart companies (not many smart co's though) will tap into every traffic source possible to increase Brand recognition, top line revenue, and increased profits.

Lose money on the small items but big profits on the larger rare purchases

yea they were really cool with aff marketing.. then as soon as they collected all the data and knew the game.. BAM, sorry thats really crappy now we can't let you do it anymore.

but you know....we'll do it ourselves... cause we do no evil... right?

adwords is next to worthless for small time.. if you have a good converting website they'll surely start to give you "poor quality" move... account...toast..
