Once in a while packages dont scan in. It happens. Anyone who says it never does - good for them. Happy for them in all regards that this is their experience, but in terms of usps as a whole, it can happen every now and then. Not at an alarming rate, but it does happen. If your system of drop off allows you to obtain a paper receipt without complicating things for yourself and usps does not give you a problem with this, then good. Keep doing it and best of luck to you. You would need this physical receipt in the case of an item never scanning and you looking to receive your money back.

Do whatever works for you. Each usps facility you work with can be a unique experience and so are the relationships you develop with these workers. Treat them well and they usually reciprocate the favor.

Preaching to the Choir, I've been saying the same thing for a long time now. The Post Office I go to has 4 ladies at the front counter, they all get goodies at Christmas, My Mail man gets a bottle of...well delicious liquid.

Not gonna lie, I've only ever had 2 packages not scan at all....and even then, they were delivered.

You gotta grease the palms. As far as packages not scanning... It doesnt happen often but once in a while i dont get a scan on packages i KNOW i have sent. It isnt at an alarming rate, and may have to do more with the acceptance facility your packages go to than USPS as a whole. But it can happen. If OP feeS it's worth getting a paper receipt then go for it.

I always estimate up to the nearest pound without issue. Or in your case round up a few ounces, as my scale isn't that accurate for light items. It's great for the 1-8lb range. I pay a little more, but I make up for it on the rare occasion my roommate hand delivers a package that may be 1" too long etc. (he runs the processing plant).

Yeah lol. Although he has taken about a month off and is driving me crazy. He says he's going back tomorrow but I've heard that all month.
