If it was myself getting a package and reading what Burst posted, I would laugh at it and probably leave positive feedback and make a smart ass comment. But that's just me...
If I opened up a box of ebay swag I bought that had something like that in it, I'd leave +FB and probably send some goofy postcard via snailmail. That would be too funny for me to NOT comply.
Good ideas, I usually just send them a message on eBay and say "Thank you for your purchase. I am ready to leave you positive feedback and hope that you do the same. Thanks again."
I am thinking about the note thing as well. Great Idea.
Does anyone use the paypal generated packing slip or do you make your own?
It depends on what you sell. Most of my customers are women or men buying for their GF/partner so I add a small piece of jewellery like a hair slide or pendant. I buy a lot of mixed auction lots with small stuff in them so I save it up for freebies.
You're always going to get someone who will leave a negative no matter what. I always ask for positive feedback. I also leave positive feedback automatically. The system was much more fair when sellers could leave a neg.
Since I started this thread last year, I've tried many things from Thank You cards, sticker on the box to giving out small gifts, I've realized that the most effective way is actually emailing the buyers and ask for feedbacks directly. And I do NOT leave fb for buyers until I receive mine. My email says something like this:
Thank you for purchasing [ITEMTITLE]. Please leave feedback for me on eBay if you are happy with your purchase. Please feel free to contact me if you are not completely satisfied with your order, as customer satisfaction is my highest priority. Thank you again for your purchase! And thank you in advance for the 5-star rating!
I hope this is helpful for those who think FBs are important.

Although feedback and the DSR's are very important, be very careful of feedback extortion. Some people just like to tell on others. Sucks, but very true.

Never leave feedback for buyers, until you have recieved yours! Simply asking the buyer after you know the goods were delivered... i tried the giving free gifts route, doesn't work. I know one guy who is subscribed to this annoying 'feedback begging' website where everyday they send emails to buyers who have not left a feedback until they gotten a feedback.

Thank you for your purchase. I appreciate your business and see your item arrived.
When you get time could you please leave feedback and I will do the same.
Then I got a couple of these.
I got the item and feel it is not what I really wanted and would like to save you some money by asking you to discount the item so you wont have to pay return shipping.
I never leave feedback until the seller who is suppose to leave it upon payment does. ( LOL ). Once I do I then follow up with feedback.
Just chancing it I left a really nice feedback. What did I get.
just ok.
