ok

it's about 500$ they already took out 150$ from my paypal yesterday for the month, so can i close paypal account and reopen it like week later with same information i had before, and will ebay will still be able to locate me or not really, am i gonna be at risk by any of them or not. i still have almost $400 i need to pay. the eBay account is suspended and they are not gonna unsuspended it until i provide identity ofcouse and i am got gonna give them my identity so i need some help here.

another option would be to withdrawal all the money, well the account can go to negative right, or not, if not i guess i can't use that account with eBay ever again, not ever to make payments as a buyer or take money as a seller, or does it only means i can't make seller fees payment with it ever again.

thank you for all the help so far. amazing website this is.

Fees and bank account

ok so i got booted from e-bay again!! I have a bank account on my paypal account and e-bay is trying to charge it for my fees. How many times do they do this? Bank says I can't block it. I still have cash in my paypal account but not enough to pay the fees (but why would I). I just want to get the cash out an scoot!! any ideas? Anyone else had this happen?

aspkin 02-23-2008 11:44 PM

I would close your bank account, and try and buy something with your Paypal account like a giftcard to get your money out.

GreenBean 02-24-2008 12:10 AM

Yoshi, you must still have problems with your IP: this account has not made
7 days has it? do you think ebay is linking you?
Why not subscribe to the forum and then present exactly what steps you are
doing. It's not that you will not get an answer here but once subscribed your post is in the one area...not on several threads.

yoshis 02-24-2008 01:11 AM

no this is the last account that got booted. my current one is good and going strong (so far) I took all the info off of the paypal and I think i'm gonna send the money to a different paypal i just want to know how many times they will try cuz the bank is charging me $25 a pop. There is no way they can collect other than my bank acct info.

Dispute thousands of $$$ paid for eBay fees with AmEx?

Hi, only over the last 3 months, I've paid thousands of dollars for eBay fees using my AmEx credit card. Would it work if I call AmEx and tell them I didn't authorize those charges? eBay suspended all my accounts, so I have nothing to loose.

ebayhateluv 03-19-2008 10:53 PM

Hey, Savahaganda--Welcome back!!

GreenBean 03-19-2008 10:58 PM

Stepixxxx, Sorry but AMEX are not the type of card provider to try that. They
check your claim and if they suspect fraud, you get the threat of litigation.

ytl 03-21-2008 07:01 AM

I know its obvious, but you can also save money by listing at certain price tiers, for instance, if you go a penny/cent over a tier you'll be paying double/1 and a half on the insertion fees.

paralax 03-21-2008 10:45 AM

eBay fees - they charged me!

I had them take it off bank account automatically. I closed that. And guess what, they charged my credit card.

I over looked credit card, should have closed that too. Oh well. I filed a charge back, as in unauthorized charge on my card. Do you think I will win? I never had eBay charge my card before.

Also. Can they charge my PayPal?

paralax 03-21-2008 11:54 AM

Aight chiefs! My turn to charge back.

Here is setup. I had my originally account suspended a month ago, no go with it for now. So I figured screw eBay. All information on that account was correct, address, SS, etc..

So I closed bank account, and it was setup to automatically take money out of bank account. But then I also had a card, AMEX, and I assumed it won't get charged, but they did charge it.

Anyway, I filed a charge back, unauthorized activity. Told yea I deal with eBay, but they were never authorized to begin with to charge my card. Charge back + close that card so it won't get charged again.

We'll see how it goes. I keep you posted.

Now the question is, are they going to do collection calls and stuff?

Also, I have this PayPal account still in good standing order. I guess I now need to close it. Since what if those *******s charge it? I have zip on balance but I plan on transfering money from other (⊗⊗⊗⊗) PayPal accounts to this account and then from there to bank.

stepia 03-23-2008 06:03 PM

Would it be safe to file a chargeback if I paid the fees using a one-time payment through the Paypal site. I did not log in to my Paypal, but used a credit card that Paypal has on file. So I wonder if Paypal would decide to be evil and limit my account once I file a chargeback?

Also the charge on my statement appears to be made by Paypal and not eBay:

Transaction Date: xx/xx/2008
Transaction Description: PAYPAL *EBAY INC xxxxxxxx CA
Description
GENERAL
Charge: $xxxx.xx
Merchant Address:
PAYPAL INC

2145 HAMILTON AVE
SAN JOSE CA 95125-5905
USA
Merchant Type: INTRNT P2P CNSMR PMT
Doing Business As: MARK PAYPAL

Does it mean that the other side will be Paypal? I would not want to mess with them since, as I said, I have this credit card on file with them for my real Paypal account, or should it be fine?

eBay Fee Question on a Suspended Account

Hi, well this is my first new thread as I just became a member today. I have been selling on ebay for over 5 years and was a power seller. I wanted a new account so I was selling some items on my boyfriends account until my new one was up and running. I wanted to sell items with buy it now and needed 5 positive feedbacks before I could list items as buy it now on my new account. So everything was fine and up and running with my new account and I got suspended. My old power seller account, my boyfriend's account and my new account have all been suspended. On my boyfriends seller account the fees are about $600.00 and unfortunatly his credit card is stored on his account. I tried to sign into his account and go to his seller's information and change it, but because I am no longer a registered user it won't let me change it. I just don't want them to charge his credit card $600. Any advice or ideas would greatly be appreciated!:o

mantisinc 03-28-2008 01:50 PM

Your best option is to file a chargeback on the payment when ebay bill the card. Other than that, you can close down your CC account which would be far to much hastle.

cp2120 03-28-2008 01:53 PM

Thanks for the information. I just feel bad as it is my boyfriends credit card, his bank debit card actually! ugh...

cp2120 03-28-2008 01:55 PM

when they give you the option to send a check or money order for ebay fees, if you chose that option will it give you some time to get the money and pay the fees?

Lisa B 03-28-2008 03:25 PM

You should mail them a money order ASAP before they try to charge your BF's card.

OR

Your BF needs to cancel his card or report it as stolen or do a chargeback as AMC suggested.

cp2120 03-28-2008 03:32 PM

thanks. what happens when ebay goes to charge the fees and the card is not active? do they send you a bill or report you to credit bureaus

Lisa B 03-28-2008 03:49 PM

eBay will just send you emails requesting payment. They never reported me to the credt bureau but PayPal (same difference) sent me a bill demanding money.

I never paid them though.

jscan 03-31-2008 05:26 AM

i admire anyone who get away with not paying eBay and paypal :)

suspended2008 04-03-2008 04:30 PM

If your paypal account is not suspended, or use any valid paypal account, you can make payment for the ebay fees. As long as there's zero fee owed, ebay doesn't make any charge to the credit card, so pay all the fees before they make a card charge.

Under My Summary, click on 'My Account', then click on 'Pay', it lets you know the amount of ebay fee owed if any.

suspended2008 04-03-2008 04:49 PM

Have many units of same product? Then use Dutch Auction. Don't list each unit in seperate listings, that costs more fees. Charge as much shipping as possible without causing complaints, ebay doesn't charge Final Value Fee on shipping. Set the starting bid price or Buy It Now price as low as possible. Do not use features, unless the items are high priced and profitable to do so, otherwise keep away from most features. No subtitle. No second category. Run 5 days or more. Sometimes it's better and cheaper to pay little extra to run for 10 days than 5 days twice which doubles the fee.

Can't decrease PayPal fee because it is based on the total payment amount.

gotcats 04-04-2008 11:05 AM

Last year my first 5 year long Ebay account was suspended and Pay[pal froze my account w/800.00 in it. They said when all my recent transactions had cleared, they would release my $. Never happened.
The next Ebay acc was suspended and Paypal froze over 1000.00!
Now I am getting Collection agancy letters for 1800.00!!! The amount they stole from ME!
And of course I cannot get into the account records to prove anything.
And yes-this showed up when I pulled my credit history.
Nazis!!

beus 04-05-2008 08:09 PM

This might help.

Go to your PayPal account>Profile>Pay List and check it if you see anything active from eBay. If you do just click on it and cancel the agreement. After that they shouldn't be able to get any money from you.

dollybaby 04-18-2008 02:54 PM

ive had letters of debt collectors for paypal, i owe them £500 but they can go and swing for it, ive got no intention of paying them what so ever.

Question about suspended account & fees

Maybe this is a stupid question - but since this my first suspended account you guys can let this one slide.

I was just wondering since my account is now suspended are eb going to automatically deduct my previous months fees from my credit card or will they just leave the fees until I 'choose' to pay for them?

C ;)

ebayaintstupid 04-23-2008 06:33 AM

If you have a balance available they will take it...

On my first account I reported my credit card stolen the day they sent me the suspension notice.

They charged it days later for 3 times what I owed them and it was rejected.

Jerks.

GreenBean 04-23-2008 07:48 AM

Not that Nice

Oh, ebay will so take the owing fees! No, they do not really want to 'wait until you are ready'. Nice if they did. 'Jerks' is a nice word there.

So what you must do is cancel any direct debt arrangement and remove credit
card. Speak to your bank and ensure that the bank know you want ebay to
have no access to any of your accounts.

Lisa B 04-23-2008 10:25 AM

Yep, what GreenBean said, eGay will take the funds in the blink of an eye.

Why the heck would they WAIT for you to decide to pay them when they have all your banking/credit/PayPal info to get their money.

In my case, eBay did something to my account thus preventing me from removing ANY of my bank accounts and credit cards. I was screwed.

I had no money to be had so they kept trying repeatedly to remove the money from my bank account and I kept getting hit with those $25 NSF fees so I ended up gouing to my bank and explained what was going on and my bank had me fill out some form blocking eBay/PayPal from removing money from my bank accounts and cards.

I had to pay a small fee like $15 but it was well worth it because now my bank was on alert and stopped any and all attempts at those crooks from trying to withdraw funds from my accounts.

It’s a small and yet sooooo sweet victory for me

411guru 04-23-2008 11:01 AM

Say, one of my accounts is suspended. Had been for 1 week now. It was setup for auto pay via paypal. They have yet to take seller fees from paypal. Why?

Lisa B 04-23-2008 01:41 PM

ePay sends an invoice notification at the end of the month then I believe there is an additional 7 days before that will try to deduct the money from your account.

Have you received the invoice from eBay yet?

If so, then they will try to deduce it within 7 days frm the date of sending you that email.

If you don't want to pay them at all and your account was suspended, then remove your banking/credit card information from your eBay account ASAP, if eBay prevents you from removing them then go directly to your bank and do what I said in my post above.

Cut em off at the knee caps and they get nada!

411guru 04-23-2008 07:37 PM

I tried on ebay but the option to disconnect paypal from auto deduct but its gone. I remember it was there last december.

Cleo 04-23-2008 09:02 PM

It won't let me view anything on ebay until I "resolve any issues". Pfft Why the hell would I resolve any issues if my account is suspended indefinitely. Stupid ebay!

Question: those who have, is there a way to stop them from doing so? (Short of draining the PayPal account itself and cutting off all sources of PP funding.)

Log into paypal click on profile - in the financial information section click on Pay List (if your ebay account is set up for auto payments it will be listed here) click on the link for the ebay account and then click cancel.

I have also seen the ebay auto pay listed under the recurring payments link so make sure you check both places and cancel both if needed.

My ebay account was set-up for auto pay, after suspension I canceled the agreement in my paypal profile and so far ebay has not even tried to take anything from the paypal account. (not that I left anything there for them to take) :)

GreenBean 04-25-2008 12:27 AM

Are You Alright?

modee, never have I read that you do not know the way out of skinning paypal.
I am amazed.

$1000 eBay Fees - a question for Modee

Hey Modee,

I have read your old messages on this forum regarding how to avoid ebay fees. My account was suspended 20 days ago and last week, I received my last invoice from ebay (about $1000). They told me that I have to make the payment within 21 days, otherwise they will automatically withdraw it from my bank account. I had my real name, last name and address on that account. Also, paypal has my SS# and every possible info including my bank account # etc... Do you think there is a way to avoid this $1000 or if I chose not to pay, are they gonna send me letters or force me to pay $1000? eBay ruined all my business so I am totally mad at them and I wish I could avoid this $1000 somehow.

Thank you.

ebayaintstupid 04-26-2008 05:37 PM

Of course you don't pay...

just call your bank and say you believe your bank account information was violated by a phishing sight or some other mechanism, and you need to know how to protect it from access.

Make sure both your accounts are projected, if you had a credit card as well.

Most likely, they will change your account numbers.

Good? Fine. Great? Wonderful.

Finally, if you just got suspended and want to negotiate with EBAY now, do it. If you really owe them the money, negotiate in as good a faith as possible to restore your account.

If they deal with you like assholes, treat them as such. If they treat you like professionals, treat them as such.

Thank you.

Thank you so much ebayaintstupid for your response. I was a powerseller on ebay and had an account manager. She used to call me once in awhile to check if everything was okay. Now that they closed my account(because it was linked to a suspended user),she doesn't answer me anymore. I would like to negotiate with them but I don't think they will restore my account anymore. However, I will contact my bank on Monday and what they can do but the only thing I am afraid of is that since they have my real name, last name and address, don't u think they will try to find me and get the $1000?

jscan 04-26-2008 10:24 PM

1000 is alot, ebay would probably come after you with there debt collectors

mantisinc 04-27-2008 05:34 AM

Yea, when it's a matter of $100, you can ususally charge back okay. But $1000 is a lot.

Although, if they pulled your listings I guess you could dispute some of that charge.
