Selling limits might be the default alternative to hitting your account with ID verification.

Yes Thats what I thought but I went through the ID verification on my account and passed over 3 months ago at the start of April. Yet still have had the selling limit placed on it

i think it was only a matter of time before they did this because of the amount of stealth accounts sold that are more than 1-2 years old quite a lot even older, they are created and left dormant for months with just a couple of feedback.

New selling limit of 5 items per month is a real killer. Luckily I have had some success with opening new accounts, and as long as I take it slow .. the warnings don't seem to come.
If they do, I just don't sell for a while and when I return it seems that the limits are gone .. just thought I would share that .. read more on selling limits>

It increases automatically as you get feedback, though?

Yes it does, but it is VERY slow .. and it seems to me that if you are always listing your max allowed, they will always be more concerned about limiting you. I find that if you appear not to be trying to list your max allowed .. they will be more likely to lift the limits. Read More on selling limits >

In my opinion...

What happens when you list your max and they review your account for increase, they see that you might be selling items that are possible foofoo they might limit you for more details, however I always max out every month and limits get increased without a problem. However the items are low risk so again as everything else it depends on what you sell.
