I used my company computer to sign in to my suspended ebay and paypal account regularly just to see how my sales went, before I got suspended. My company has a static IP address and my computer connects to the server and the company network.

Is it true that ebay will only see my company's static ip address, not link back to my particular computer ip address? If I set up a new account at home, can I use my company computer to access the ebay and paypal account, without ebay suspending my new account?

Thanks

using an iphone

I can access ebay on my iphone's 3 G network, is this a good thing or bad? How can or can they track my phone's ID.

I can also set up a personal hotspot and use my phone's data connection from my iMac. Can they tell that I am using my phone and can they track my phone anyway.

He has not been a round for a long time but this still works for many people and newbies need to learn how to do this.

Thanks ! I'm learn it .

I did all these steps (which is basically in the Stealth book),
except for rebooting my modem.

I just unplugged my wireless router, then plugged it back in. That did it.

So maybe it is not necessary to turn off and turn back on the modem.
I did not do it, yet I got an entirely new i.p. address.

It all depends on the Modem/ISP.

If you already know that nothing works, why are you still dwelling on the problem? Move on and try something else that actually works to change your IP address. Move on and make some money friend.

I have a ARRIS modem/router in one and when I go in to the router I can not

change any number as at a regular nice netgear router I had before any

suggestions to my problem?

Should I:smash: the ARRIS and get a new modem and router?

If it's an Arris modem/router combo that was provided (rented) from your ISP for speeds over 20 mbps like the DG series (860,950, etc) it's nearly impossible.

The ZOOM 5341J cable modem and a router like Netgear 300 has solved this problem for me. Tested on 3 different cable ISP's. 2 regional and 1 national.

Good luck

i have a netgear router and i used to do this all the time years ago. now recently i got back into selling and need to make a new account.

but when i try to change my mac address it allows me but it doesnt change my ip address. and i know my isp is dynamic because it allows me to change it from static to dynamic in my router configuration AND i used to do this all the time easily.

now i have no idea what im doing wrong its just not changing my IP how sad :(:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

Just FYI, Just because an ISP service is Dynamic....does not always mean that it will be easy to change an IP. My ISP is dynamic and I learned early on it would be awful difficult to change IP.....Move on to something else that will be easier to use.

I am a brand new member. I was attempting to change the last two digits but when I login as admin and try to change (everything including WAN IP Address (IPv6)) it is in greyed out with no edit option and looks like it is managed automatically thru xfinity. If I unplug everything and the IP changes is it still important to change the MAC address? If I cannot will buying IPburgers service be enough? Thanks

If you plug your modem into your PC via USB, stop doing that. You lose speed and you give away secrets.

Your cable modem gets IP based on the MAC of what it is connected TO, not the MAC of the modem itself.
If your ISP has assigned you a STATIC IP address, you're stuck with it. It's not common for them to do that, though.

If you are looking for the walkthrough for Cable Modem Connected directly to NIC:
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-tr...-your-nic.html

[begin modem/router]
01a. Goto IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup and write your current ip address down.
02a. Change the MAC ID for the ROUTER.
02b. Open your browser and enter the information to access the web-setup to your router (usually http://192.168.1.1)
You can find this in your router manual or by viewing the status of your ethernet. It is your default gateway.
02c. You may get a popup asking for login name and password. If you didn't change it, try admin admin or admin and blank.
Different routers have different factory default login/password. Google 'router default password <your brand>'.
03a. Look around in the setup for the option for MAC address. Some routers have many MAC addresses. you need WAN MAC.
If you only find one MAC setting, obviously that's the one you want.
04a. Do NOT choose to clone any MAC already in your system. Change the numbers in the last 2 pairs as you wish.
MAC is in this format - xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx - and the first 4 sets need to stay as they are. The last pairs change.
You can make those any hex numbers between 00-FF. Set this manually. Don't CLONE anything.
05a. After you change, you need to save the settings. So click save.
06a. You can either reboot the router or you can Release DHCP then Renew DHCP from the router, if you see the option.
07a. Regardless of what you did for 06a, unplug and replug your MODEM while the router is still doing it's thing.
08a. Goto IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup and compare it to what you got from 01a. It should be different.
If it is still the same, either you missed a step or your IP is STATIC.
[end modem/router]

NOTES:
001 You can go back to a previous IP by changing your MAC back to what it was for that IP, up to a point. After a few hours, you can't get it back. Some ISPs hold it in reserve for 24 hours. Some for 1 hour. Orion has a great thread going for this. See http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-tr...d-numbers.html

002 Different routers put the MAC on different pages. It's in there somewhere.

003 Every network device has a MAC address. Do not set the router MAC to be identical to any other MAC in your system. You will get collisions which may freeze your system or may cause your modem to go into a reboot loop. It's very annoying. It may lock you out of your router.

004 For DSL, go see ebayhateluv's excellent thread here http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-tr...p-address.html

thanks , that was helpful , but you should try that after trying the simplest old method which is rebooting the router , that works for the majority of ISP's , and this will save you a lot of work , but if you are stuck with an ISP that keeps your IP for long time , that means you need to do it the hard way

yes , this works faster , you can do it faster using the web based control panel of your router , usually its accessible on 192.168.1.1 ,
find the wan connection , and there will be a button some where that says disconnect ,or connect , it can disable and enable your wan connection which will reset your ip and hopefully the IP will be changed in few seconds

So once an IP address is different even if its just one digit for example
144.133.200.21 becomes 144.133.200.20 then thats good enough? I mean it is now a different IP

No matter how similar, or different ip address is, as long as it's "not the same" you're good to go.

Mate, you really need to study the stealth guide.

The answer to your Q is "YES" , but again... do yourself the favor and study.

Does using different profiles in firefox work instead of user accounts? Do different profiles on same user account require different IPs?

Also are flash cookies different on each firefox user profile that are on the same user ID?

Different profiles require different IPs - I prefer using different user accounts

Re: How to change IP address if you have a ROUTER and a CABLE MODEM

I was using different user IDs but never changed my ip address between each user ID and I've never been linked that way.
I would rather use profiles in firefox on same user ID since it's much faster, but I'm worried that ebay can link using a combination of ip address and something else if I do it that way. I can't find much info on if ebay can link using ff profiles within same user ID.

I'm thinking that ip address doesn't matter that much by itself, but maybe ebay uses ip in combination with something else when using ff profiles in same user ID.

if ebay detects your activity , and link your accounts , that doesnt mean they will act immediatelly ,
they will wait till they need to
