I use proxify.com, it's free service is okay, but to work with eBay, you need to pay a small fee. I like it.

Aspkin does it work on Paypal and other businesses, or is that fee based too?

It's just one fee, 6 month usage. I was able to login to eBay and Paypal with no problems.

I'm trying to create an account in another region and I need something that will show the location in that region too. As FB said, that will probably be safer. AOL won't give that location so I'm looking at other alternatives. In this thread, the proxy switcher and cnet program above stand out. Between those and AOL, which do you think has the lesser chance of being shot down? AOL is practically worldwide now I believe, right? So would the ISP proxy be the safer choice--even though the IP location will be different from the account location--or would you go with the proxy program that I can modify to the location of the eb account?

Tell me all about it. Used it? Like it? Hate it? Can you change your IP to whatever you want? Does it stay or constantly change? Would you recommend it over AOL? Please share all.

No a proxy doesn't work, and say if the proxy is in China or Russia that would make you look even worse.
Sometimes you lose connection with the proxy and suddenly you are back on your suspended IP and Ebay will know.
Best way is to use dial up or just switch your MAC address, that will change your IP.

Ideally, the idea would be for the proxy location to be the same as the ebay address and stay that way. Can you lose proxy connection even on a constant connection like broadband?
The account will be registered in another country so just using dial up won't work. But even that aside, on dial-up I still get a warning before the connection is completely lost.

Activity: 0% Longevity: 97% | | No more proxies for me!
So I was using a proxy on 2 of my accounts and 1 not. The 2 that I used proxies on last night had issues. The first said that my account was used by an unauthorized 3rd party. They wanted a new password, but for some reason they kept asking a security question that I did not use (they wanted 1st school, I used 1st street name). So I can't access it anymore. The other one now wants to check my phone number! The phone number I have used for that account was my work number, but am on maternity leave now so I'm kind of screwed on that one for the next year!
so now I'm down to one brand new account (<1 week), which of course, I can't really use too much without getting shut down. I tried to make that one as solid as possible: virtual bank with real debit mastercard, real address (parents), I even threw them a roadrunner email address (but forwarding to gmail). I will be soooo bummed if this one gets shut down. I'm hoping to keep this one long term.

Also, I have used Hide IP and it does randomly generate a new IP address...I've yet to even get one in North America, so for our purposes it is useless.
Also, I ran it once before opening IE and my ISP wouldn't even let me sign on because it thought I was accessing from halyway around the world.

I posted about this long ago. eBay always resets your password and then makes you enter captchas for every single damn thing on their site if you use proxies. When they reset your password, they reset your security question, too.

I was thinking about using Proxify. Glad to know ahead of time that they won't work. What's this about AOL?

I've noticed that my AOL IP has been the same now for a few days and several different logins, but I haven't cleared my "footprints" there for a while. Not a big deal necause I am only using it on one "good" account.

Proxies work, eBay just ****lists the account more and more until it's still a registered user but can't do anything.

u can call customer no servce though if you are really desparate. if the acct has just been reset . but be sure you know all the info u put on that acct. I got an idea from another poster who was using index cards to keep track of all their accts and whats on them. good tool for when you are locked out of the personal info section of your acct. |

Activity: 0% Longevity: 96% | | Question about Hide IP
Is it a good idea to use this software?
Every time i change it it gives me:
Italy
China
Egypt
England
USA
etc...
Would i get banned if i use it?
Or should i use the old reboot your modem trick?
ex ebay

If you have the option... it's a lot better to reboot your modem. EBay usually bans accounts using proxies like THIS.
