Dr Birx said we only have 50% of the test data back, so I've quit posting any graphs showing growth lol

660,000 kits aren't back yet. That's an easy 100,000 more cases, even with a mild positive rate of 15-20%

Yeah... I realized a few weeks ago that tracking the statistics is totally without point.

Just sitting back watching the show as the world seemingly burns around us at this point.

Yup. It's good to see that italy peaked and is declining in both cases and deaths. At least we know that it's not going to continue to grow while were on lockdown.

Singapore closed up like China. Reopened and had a problem. Added restriction after restriction. Opened up, had cases. Now they have an assembly rule of 4 people. It seems that no matter what they did, it did not eliminate the problem. Hong Kong is similar.

35 degrees every day here in the Philippines and we have a stricter lockdown (no online sales) and there's still a lot of cases, only reason there's not a lot more is because they're not testing much

The solution has been announced by Bill already, he said the crisis won't end until we have a vaccine.

They are now prepping vaccine passports along with digital identification. In the future, you won't be able to go back to normal life if you're not vaccinated.

When Spanish Flu hit 100 years ago there were the same comments made as are being made now - this will, eventually, pass and a vacination will be developed

Yeah, yeah, I'm not a doctor. But I've been studying since this started taking off in December and I've learned a few things.

I'm dumb, but I'll try to explain my reasoning for that statement. Countries have been trying (without success) to develop a vaccine for SARS-CoV since 2003. Why would we all of a sudden have the capability of developing a vaccine for SARS' older brother, SARS-CoV-2? Another good example would be MERS. It has a ~30% fatality rate, so there would definitely be incentive to develop a vaccine for it if it were possible, but that's not something we've been able to do, as of yet.

Another thing is the mutation rate. There are already dozens of mutations after a few months of circulation, with 2 known strains. With it mutating so quickly it would be impossible to predict which mutation would need to be vaccinated against for the next season. But that's irrelevant anyway, because the very nature of coronaviruses makes them impossible to vaccinate against.

When I was a child diptheria and polio were something to be scared of, they had been around on earth for ever - when do we hear of these now. We dont because of vacination - this virus will be beaten in the same way

False negative rates are somewhere around 30%. How many false positives are there? They don't seem to talk about such things. If you google, only false negatives come up. Why? Because a false positive is only bad for the patient, so why would anyone else care? False negatives are bad for everyone else.

As far as population sizes. No, no we aren't heading for standing room only. It all comes down to logistics. If we really wanted to, we could double our population and still have enough resources to spare. But that would require global communism, that actually works. Look at America. We throw away half our food lol.

There is more than enough for what we need. But not enough for what we want.
