It seems to be a profitable game for some customer, I had similiar complaints in the past.
Since PP blocks the disputed amount you can not do much, from what I have seen.
If you can not find an agreement with the customer you can only open a disput with paypal, where a 'pp-specialist' decides either in your favour or in favour of this customer.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Eh that sucks! I know a lot about Paypal fraud, but that one is a first. Your buyer actually sends you back a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ product? Why send anything at all? From Paypal's end, send what ever they ask, if you have postage receipts, pictures, anything saying you sent the item, scan it and send it to them. It's hard to win if you're the seller, especially if it's a charge back! I have a love hate with customers; with my business 20% of customers are scammers.

aspkin

from what you have seen and your experience, from let's say 10 disputes, how many end as a 'voluntary' refund to the customer?

yeah it sucks. Paypal didnt even ask him to send the item back yet. He opened an item not as described and paypal is asking for my response regarding this. I want to beat this bad! He even laughed and taunted me on MSN messenger saying how he do this all the time and that he will win the paypal dispute. I found out his home address by his cell phone. I paid for a records search. I hate buyers like this. Im glad im not using paypal anymore. I have already been thinking that I'm going to wait tell he sell something and Im going to buy it and then do the same thing he did to me..What should I do.

In such cases I always offer full refund after item is shipped back.
For low price item it does not make any benefit for the customer, and even for more expensive item you can claim back that you did receive not the original item or that the item sent back was damaged by the customer etc.
You can play such games until one side finally give up.

Default Buyer scam what should I do?

I don't know why I am having so many buyer problems, maybe they pick on new sellers or something

Anyways here is the situation. I sold a dress to A. In my auction description I said that all the clothing labels have a line through the label to prevent store returns. The dresses come with the paper tags also. When I shipped the dress to A I forgot about the retail tags because I was shipping around 50+ items and was trying to do it in a hurry.

A contacted me and said that she didn't receive the paper tags and that I misrepresented the item. Since it was only 3 days I didn't throw away the mess I had in packaging all the shipments. SO, I found the paper tags and said that I will send them to her, and of course apologized for everything.

She then proceeded to say that I had to give her 25% back due to my mistake.

On my auctions I only listed my a full return + refund of the item NO partial refunds. If the customer doesn't like it then return it for a full refund plus shipping both ways. No Partial Refunds.

Anyways, she said that if I do not give her 25% she will leave me negative feedback. She doesn't even care if I will send the paper tags that is the whole point of the argument.

Since I am a new seller I do not have any feedbacks yet, a negative will really hurt me. Right now I have 13 positives.

However I would hate to let this scammer have her way as she just wants to extort me.

Is there anything I can do?

I'm sure that's against some sort of eBay rules trying to extort someone else by leave a negative feedback. Some people these days. I wouldn't give in to her demands, it will only encourage them. I would try to explain the situation to her, and maybe throw in that you don't like threats and I'm sure eBay will have a field day with them if they continue, and if she leaves you a negative, big deal. Explain it with your reply option in feedbacks, and leave her a nice negative as well. You can't please all the people all the time.

Default Buyer Problems - Any Suggestions?

What would you do if a buyer seems to be playing a bluff game with you on a transaction? A dispute was opened for a nonpaying buyer. The buyer responded, saying they had been trying to contact me but emails were bouncing back apparently. That has happened before so I'm willing to give a second chance. I send an invoice and the buyer pays, but then the buyer starts getting demanding. He first asks me to close the dispute now that payment has been made. That's fair enough. But that's not all. Other questions come like "why was this invoice not sent through ebay" "why is the email address different?" "who is this person" etc. They also demand an answer from this "other person" or they will file a paypal dispute as they suspect criminal activity. Now we all know the answers to these questions are simple as we've all been there, but what would you reply to this person, and given such requests are being thrown at me, would you at this time close the dispute or keep it open to maybe give a little more incentive that they don't dispute the payment with paypal? I have already removed the funds and am now considering just removing the credit card from file and waiting it out, but what would you do and would you close the nonpaying buyer dispute, or would that be playing into the OP's hands to open the paypal dispute and get their money back? Or worse, that they might report me to ebay and ebay may start looking VERY closely into my account(s) which could lead to disaster! Any helpful suggestions from those who have been there?

OK, I just had my first account suspended. I had used this account since 1998. I had 1500 FB. I was suspended indefinately because of a vero violation. But I had another account (ebay & PP) that i was using along side my first account for 4 years. Both accounts have the same name on them, But everything else is different ( address, IP, BAnk, CC,town). My second account that I made 4 years ago is still alive and well. It has been 2 1/2 weeks since my first account ( the one I opened in 1998) was suspended. So far my other account is alive and well. I stopped logging into both accounts when my first account was suspended. I deleted all the cookies and the offline content like the guide says, just in case "they" could find a trace of my other suspended account somewhere. Then I waited a week before I started selling again, I am started off slowly, because this second account was hardly ever used and I dont want to send up any red flags to ebay. It has been 10 days and everything is still going strong.

So many bidders on eBay bid just to harass.

Default Idiot buyers - Non paying buyers - Complaints - talk about your Bad Buyer experiences

Why ever since i got suspended, i got a dispute opening a day on me buy my buyers from a month.

But to get to the point, they are filling false item not received thru ebay just to get free money since I'm NARU and they probably think I'm not going to respond..

Now that is shady business. Ebay on buyers are jerking them.. I emailed one buyer and told him of his shady ways and told him I have the tracking numbers and receipt of payment as proof and he closed the dispute right away asap. I guess he back out and got scared...

What should i do. should I leave it alone or what.

This is really common and I've heard about it.

There's a website like ic3.com or something where you can report them, but nothing ever gets done.

Default Got turned in by a former buyer!

Had been up and running up and running for about a week ... things going good. On the second day of selling I received a bid from my all-time worst bidder when I was selling before. I should've blacklisted him before I even started selling...big mistake. This clown bids and wins and this evening I go to log onto my ebay account and get the 'you're suspended' notice. Then I go to my paypal and notice my bidder from hell has filed a claim with paypal and submitted a note stating I was suspended previously on another account and how I'm a fraud, yada yada yada.

Obviously got to start all over. Quick question. What sort of action should I take with the people that have paid me already. Should I send them an email letting them know they will still get their stuff to avoid a rash of paypal claims.

Should I be worried about paypal taking any action? Any other thoughts?

The least you can do is to publically post their username. While a seller here shouldn't, a person like that deserves their user ID posted so we can all block it.

Oh and tell them you got suspended because of X user ID who is a competitor that has been stalking and harassing your actions.
I have no idea how he found out. I changed the name of my paypal business account in addition to all the other stuff in the guide. Maybe my listings looked a little to similar to my old ones...but the thing is it was over a year ago this clown gave me problems before.

I will private mail those interested in knowing who this retard is. Don't want to allow him to discover this forum by googling his name.

Good suggestion on what to say to my customers.

Wow that sucks! That guy has nothing better to do then to mess with you? The next time you create an account, make sure it looks nothing like your current one. Different everything, especially your auctions. You don't want that guy finding you again.

As for your current auctions; I would definitely send them notice that the goods are on the way, and maybe a little side note of what happened. You don't want to stiff anyone and have them come back later to bite you. It's never good to scam people.

It is unbelievable as this jerk has nothing better to do. Yep, I've already sent the communication. Plus as I truly live by the "do unto others..." motto, I would never still folks for what they paid money for.

Also you should try to get information from this buyer and see how they found out it was you.

Since it was over a year and not a month or so, that's odd. Odder is how would they find you only on your second day of selling and not like your second month. Further is if they're after you for a year, why would they even bid? If they bid to try to find some contact info, did they request for your phone number, you get an email if they did?

Since the person filed a paypal claim exposing themselves as the one who turned you in, it's obvious it's not ebay who suspended you based on a random bot action.

You said you "changed the name of my paypal business account". Well somehow paypal either gave them the same old name or some kind of info indicating it was you. So based on their paypal claim, obviously they must have done paypal to find your information and paypal gave it. I wonder what info paypal gave them?

Did they file a not received or not as described claim? If not received, then you can mail them anything with a tracking number.
Guy filed a non-receipt claim with paypal. I don't think he even requested user information from either ebay or paypal. The notification from paypal that he was disputing the item was addressed to my new business name. Theoretically, there is no reason as to why ebay should have suspended me. Everything was different from before ... with the exception of the using the same paypal account (with a different pay to email address) and the possible exception of the listing looking a little too much as before.

The notice from ebay stated "linked to a suspended account" and listed my previous id. The fact they suspended me based on the conjecture of some idiot ebay member is ridiculous. I don't think paypal was involved in the suspension.

What's the value of trying to appeal the suspension with ebay?

I hope you mail the guy an empty box with tracking numbers on it. Maybe a note saying "Thanks for getting me suspended from ebay". Find out of you're protected by the seller protection policy against chargebacks if he used a credit card.
Maybe paypal did but don't think so. Still I'm gonna open up a new pp account in my wife's name to be safe.
