ICE BOWL tomorrow.

James Lofton called it on the Radio. At the Beginning of the second half when Luck threw the INT'. Said this is exactly what happened to the Bills team he played on when Frank Reich had that huge comeback.

Quite disappointed being a Alex Smith fan. Even with all the injuries and the poor defensive play can look back at 4 or 5 plays and if they one would have executed one of them probably could have been the difference in the game.

KC loss was tough to watch - injuries and Colts rally...wow.

Saints did it again - figure they will head deep....Brees always has a way of getting through the tight spots...

Very tough to beat GB at home in that cold and SF did it.

Great weekend of games.

Can't wait for tomorrow night's showdown. Hope that one is competitive.

My 49ers did it - close games all weekend.

Except the Bengals vs. Chargers - Chargers really pulled it off but man, oh man, Bengals self-destructed....fumbles, interceptions....multiple times. Chargers kept it in shape but were lucky....got to love playoffs

Waiting for Bengals to fire the coach.

They should have done this years ago.

Always talented and always no leadership and choke.

Should be a good one.

Usually I can put a finger on the Natl Championship game but with this one I cannot.

Okla smacked Alabama which I thought was still better then Auburn. Now I am thinking Auburn is not as good as most think. ??

Not impressed with Fla St but they have some NFL quality players with tons of speed on both sides so it will be Fla St speed vs Auburns toughness and ball hawking.

If they dont get to Winston quick he will put up large numbers and a lot of points. Speed everywhere.

0-5 in the Playoffs. Marv Lewis has been there for like 10 plus years. Pacman Jones, T.O., Ochocinco, Odell Thurman and countless other jailbirds going through that organization. Daulton stunk it up today like he did week 17 vs Ravens. Will he ever be great. Probably not.

But sometimes changing the head coach changes the culture. I still think Marv Lewis has to have some dirt on the owners. He has failed so many times to get the Bengals in the right direction going back to the Palmer days.

Again like I have said the last month. Beware of the San Diego Chargers. They are BiPolar. If the they show up anywhere on one of there "good days" they are as good as any team in the NFL.

Being in Florida I am not a Seminoles fan at all but they sure did well on that last drive.

Those weapons I mentioned earlier, well Auburn had no answer for the 6'6" WR and should have double covered him in that last drive. Bad defensive play calling not to cover who we all knew was going to get the ball.

rsot 01-07-2014 05:50 AM

Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun

Auburn did not have the weapons indeed to handle the drive - was a game to watch though

It was a very good game. The Auburn defense did fold in the 2nd half. I will say though this was the best BCS National Championship game since Vince Youngs Texas played Matt Leinart/Reggie Bush's USC.

I am glad finally next year will have a playoffs. I would much rather see it be 6 or 8 teams but at-least it is a start in the right direction.

Seattle pulled it off but Brees was outstanding as usual.

Then NE hits the Colts for two quick TDs.

Brees only had 34 yards of passing in the first half though. That Seahawks defense !

Pats look very good considering several key players out with injuries.

** Andrew Luck will be a star in this league someday once he learns how to not get rattled in the pocket.

Yea but when he needed to score he went right down and put Seattle on the brink.

This looks like early 2000's N.E. Patriots. That use to run the ball like crazy with Corey Dillon and Company. Then Brady would hit key play action passes.

Congrats to Tom Brady making it back to the AFC Championship game. If they make it back to the Superbowl especially if he beats Peyton Manning to get there. He will likely be regarded as the best QB of their era.

Also was impressed with the Punts Gotowoski the kicker had when he had to come into punt. Took a low snap and handled it well and got off a nice punt. Funny seeing Brady hold the snaps for the kicks as well.

Luck if he can learn to not turn the ball over so much in the big games he has a chance to be one of the best. If he keeps throwing interceptions like this is Playoff games. He is the next Tony Romo.

Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun

Seahawks owned it - Saints were close in the 3rd/4th quarter...nice drives but failed.

Patriots blew the Colts out - wasn't even close.

Hoping my 49ers can pull through but Panthers look good...

Always loved the Pats way of playing the last 10 years. And some of their players as well.

On the other hand what you are saying is this season tells you who is the best QB of this era?

And if Peyton gets to the superbowl and Tom does not then the same goes as Peyton will be the best of his era like you said Tom would?

No matter what this matchup would be awesome to see these two go at it again.

Not bad.

3 out of the final 4 playoff teams picked in Sept.

The Denver-SD game will be very fun to watch.

I think another head to head matchup of Brady vs Manning. Even though it is a team game. Since Brady has had the upper hand for so long and such a better playoff record etc. If Brady beats Manning to go to the Superbowl this will leave Manning behind Brady in the QB discussion. If Manning wins it could bring save his relevance and help him get past that Postseason woes he has had his entire career.

Like you said this is a team game and Brady has had a ton of awesome talent helping him while Peyton did not have teams even close to the talent the Pats have had over the years. Good teams but not great overall teams like Brady has had.

I dont think I could chose one over the other based on who won super bowls as that would be like saying that no player in MLB deserves to be a HOF because his team never went to a World Series.

Manning I think has the over edge between the two as I dont look at how many super bowls someone went to because many great QBs never went to any super bowls.

What you do not know is I have been following the Pats for years because they play like the Boston Red Sox, gritty, never give up and fight to the end but Peyton is a rare breed who knows the game far beyond any QB I have watched.

And dont forget, Pats coach is probably the best ever.

Sorry but this is wrong and it's been proved several times the opposite. Starting with the basic fact that Manning has played with a higher number of Pro-Bowl players than Brady has. Won't get into it anymore (posts got deleted last time as this isn't really the place for it. plus time) but I could honestly post some indisputable evidence if we were in a debate club or something lol

Seattle Seahawks trying to block 49ers fans from purchasing NFC championship game tickets

According to SFGate.com, the Seahawks are limiting ticket sales to just six states and the Canadian provinces for the upcoming playoff game. Only credit cards with addresses from Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii will be allowed to buy tickets for the game at CenturyLink Field.

Yes, California is among the states excluded from the list.

Y! SPORTS

How many MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS have each won?

Peyton will win MVP again this year.

Hard to compare side by side so you have to factor in everything.

It will be a matter of opinion because both are good, Peyton is better in my opinion overall.

Still think Peyton had some talent around him but never the talent Brady has had on BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL.

Pats teams were always loaded with great players on both sides.

Guess the only person who can answer would be Wes Welker.

Manning loses this game and it cripples his legacy as being in that conversation for best QB ever. May have all the passin stats may have all these other records. But a career record of 4-10 vs Brady. Then to possibly lose at home again. At-least for this era of QBs. This is a must win for Manning if he wants to be at the top of that list. Otherwise I think he will be looked at more like a Dan Marino rather than a Joe Montana.
