Just play the game. | Terrell Owens, Joe Namath, Dez Bryant. Lol
Michael Crabtree throwing a ball in the stands and getting a Personal foul that almost cost the 49ers the game last week.
I agree this look at me look at me stuff is too much. |

I am I believe the only one so far in the thread to like the college game much better then the NFL.
College games when certain teams play each other can be exciting every single Saturday while the NFL maybe one game a week can do that and then lets all wait until we see who makes the playoffs and then get excited.
College games if you watch like I do can be addicting.
When you see Ohio St vs Michigan, LSU v Florida in person the stadium itself is an amazing atmosphere.
Some of these bowl games are going to be something special. |

Family full of all state football, basketball and or baseball players.
Also grew up in a college football town so have been a college football fan since I was a small kid. |

| vogeltron | 12-23-2013 04:28 AM | Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun Cowboys survive a close one. Still think Romo will have a chance to win the game next Sunday and throw a big interception or make a bonehead play to cost them the playoffs again. Rumors are whole Cowboys coaching staff is fired if they lose.
On another side note. Eagles offense looked sharp again today. Didn't think that Chip Kelly's offense would translate to the NFL. But so far it has been decent and Nick Foles is quietly having an Pro Bowl caliber season. |

You do know he does not make all of his own calls right?
He does change the play at the line if he sees the defense in zone or something but the plays are developed and called from upstairs.
When no one can stop you what are you suppose to do stop playing? |

When no one can stop you what are you suppose to do stop playing? | He threw the ball 52 times last game despite the Broncos RBs averaging nearly 8 yards per run in the game. Any sane coach would keep running the ball accordingly. But he makes majority of the playcalls. He's selfish and this shows from the fact he threw the ball 5 times in a row within the 15 yard line (3 being within the 10) yesterday, and despite the big lead late, he was still throwing bombs down field trying to pad his stats. They were at jeopardy of almost losing the game at one point to the worst team in the league, because obviously that wasn't the proper game plan. And it's no surprise he beat the record - cause has something like 68 more passing attempts than Brady did in 2007 already. Yet still has another game to go. That's 2-3 games worth of extra passes. Even his attempt at being humble in the interview after was lame; already on his mind was that the worry that it would probably be broken again, blaming the league for potentially extending the season to 18 games. |
| Sandy D | 12-23-2013 01:06 PM | Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun I dont think he is a selfish person at all. He knows football better then any coach in the NFL and attacks defenses because they have no answer to his knowledge of defenses and players.
The man spends countless hours watching film and making notes.
I did not like him early in his career because I am a Marino fan who thought Dan was the best ever. Marino did things with never having talent around hm but I believe Manning is in the top as the best QB ever.
Brady, Moss and those 2007 Pats WR were far worse then these Broncos if I remember. They ran up scores and tossed 60 yard passes when they were up by 4 touchdowns. |
Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun The best QB ever cannot have 8 one and dones in the post season, along with a game-losing pick 6 in the SuperBowl.
That's just terrible. It's Romo-like.
Brady has enough individual stats alongside Manning in that area... so when you factor in something else arguably a little more important: winning (which is what it's all about) Brady has the clear edge and that should be the end of it all. Post season Ws, only QB to be 100+ games above .500, and trips to 5 SuperBowls while winning 3 and losing 1 off the luckiest play in sports history lol |

I like Brady. He has been lucky enough to have players and coaches around him to help him look even better.
Smart and clutch he is good but if Manning were in NE for the last 10 years I can see them winning 5 of the 10 championships.
Manning took Indy to it and yes threw the interception but he did not really have much of a team around him to even get to it.
Everyone else must feel he has done well.
He should win his 5th MVP this season. Brady has 2.
Both are the best of their time and both are talked about being the best of all time. |
Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun In the playoffs that Manning won his only SuperBowl, he threw more than double the amount of INTs than TDs. (3 TDs, 7 INTS). I'm sorry but that's another glaringly bad statistic.
Also, Brady constantly has players go in & out the door and adjusts on the fly. They talked about this on the NFL network. You can attach Montana's name to Rice. Manning to Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. But choosing one for Brady didn't make sense. Welker is the only candidate but he was there for half the time as the previous WRs mentioned, and was just a short 1 dimensional slot guy. Pretty incomparable to the types of WRs Rice, Harrison and Wayne were. Moss was there for 4 years (Brady had him for only 3 because of his season ending injury)
I'm not so sure Manning could win those 2 more championships with the Patriots than Brady. Yet alone, could he win the amount of games the Patriots & Brady won this season despite the injuries mountains of injuries. Statistically, the Patriots D was the worst defence to ever make it to the SuperBowl in 2012. The Patriots were a Welker drop away from winning that game. I guess we'll see this year if Manning can take his own poorly ranked D past the 1st round. |

Both are the best of their time and both are talked about being the best of all time. | Peyton Manning had just as good if not better teams in Indy. Especially in the early part of the 2000's when he had Harrison, Wayne and Edgrinn James. However, Manning like always has failed to win in Jan especially in cold weather. We have seen all kinds of QBs like Warner, Steve Young, and Dan Fouts put up crazy numbers playing inside or in domes. If you want to be considered the best you have to be able to win a road game. You also have to win Superbowls.
Peyton Manning is like Dan Marino and Dan Fouts in my book. Fun to watch put points on the board. But if I have to take one QB from this era to win one game. It is Tom Brady no doubt about it. |

As a big Giants fan (and Eli supporter), I gotta back my franchise QB.
Remember, if Eli didn't beat Brady TWICE, Brady would have 5 rings...and a perfect 19-0 season. |

And in 2007 he closed his eyes and chucked the ball downfield for a no-name receiver to somehow catch with the most luck in sports history. I'm convinced he played those games with a horse shoe stuck up his ass lol.
Even after leading the league once again in interceptions, I really hope you wouldn't take Eli over Brady lol

Eli has played well when he actually makes the playoffs. But he is not in that top tier of elite QB's, more in the Terry Bradshaw realm of the QB world. Solid player on some very good teams. Tom Brady has never had losing season. Other than the year he got hurt, he has one season on record as a starter with less than 10 wins. He has the Postseason accolades to go with it as well.
It is Ironic however, Peyton has had trouble beating Brady his entire career and little brother took two Superbowls from him. |

| Sandy D | 12-24-2013 01:29 PM | Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun I was looking at different list of top QBs of all time and noticed not everyone is on the same page so it makes it logical for none of us to think the same.
Many list has Brett Favre on their top 5 all time list and no way is he a top 5 qb of all time.
Manning and Brady would possibly be close and or in the top 5.
Issues are I really like Brady and have for years and he should have more rings as the teams he has guided were loaded with talent. Manning had those good teams early on but they were not Pats loaded up talented teams at all.
Marino would be also in the discussion had he played on a better team. To me he is the best passer ever in my opinion. Quick release, smart and could have had an even better career had Miami had more talent.
Dont forget Montana either.
We have been lucky enough to see Montana, Manning and Brady play and may be 3 of the best QBs ever to play. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:56 AM. | |
