Took dmshark25's advice. Ordered a Nexus 7 through warehouse deals on Amazon. Received in 2 days with free prime shipping, was listed as used, very good with screen marks, received a brand new item that was never turned on. Was $145 or half of new retail price. Finally had chance to escalate eBay case since seller is not responding. Happy!

I have a fairly long standing rule to avoid buying on ebay for the very reasons you outlined.

Glad it is all resolved in your favor now ( ie, lower cost, better item)

It's true Greenbean. Only if you get lucky on eBay all will go well and you will get MORE than you paid for. Probably one of the reasons eBay is throwing us all these curveballs that make it hard to sell anything, cause of scammers like this.
