| | | Burst | 10-06-2008 05:19 AM | Category seems to be right. All of my transactions in one category are being held, while another "which I thought would be more likely to have a higher risk" is going in and out without any problems.
Ebay and Paypal also said that they chose areas to hold, and also if youre under 100 feedback youre going to be on their radar. Just do a search for 21 day hold on google. |
| gurusgrafx | 10-06-2008 09:21 AM | last night I logged into paypal reversed all payments then sent payment requests for the items. Sent emails explaining what was going on and so far one has paid again with no holds. Also added to all my items a rather large note about not making immediate payments and to wait to be invoiced to avoid delays in shipping. Hopefully this will work until we can figure something else out. |
| aking | 10-08-2008 11:43 AM | so if u send invoices out to people you can get around the 21 day hold? Thats damn near impossible for me b/c I am hardly ever around when my auctions end, and the majority of the time, buyers just go ahead and pay. Maybe I will just have to start being at the PC when they end so I can send invoices. |
| Burst | 10-08-2008 05:08 PM | So to thicken the plot I sold my last item that paypal kept holding the funds until delivered. Thinking its going to be that situation again, i go ahead and mail it out. I check my inbox later on and the funds went into my account no problem, no holds or anything! Maybe they see that Im adding tracking numbers within hours of auctions end and getting positive feedback for the items.
All I know is right now I have holds that need to be lifted and they arent, yet the last one made it through without any issues. |
| aking | 10-08-2008 08:18 PM | Well to make the plot a bit thicker, I listed a few items on an account with little feedback points established and had no holds. Tracking numbers put on both ebay and paypal within 30 mins of auction end. I'm thinking Im not going to have the hold problem at all until I list more of the same item, this time holds on almost all the payments, but not all. I cant seem to figure it out, it seems random. |
| myIonU | 10-11-2008 07:47 PM | May I ask when do they stop holding the payment?
After you get a good selling record? over 100 feedback?
They have released all my held payments, but they are stilling holding onto new ones coming in. |
| Burst | 10-12-2008 05:58 AM | This has been answered in the first page of this post. |
| Exeneva | 10-12-2008 11:17 AM | Modee is correct. The question of 21-day holds and how to combat it comes up all too constantly. It's not too hard to find a solution if you think about it for a while. However, I doubt anyone who knows is going to post this in public because if Paypal/eBay caught on, it would not work anymore.
It all goes back to account creation. This is an issue you have to think about BEFORE your account is even made. That's all I'll hint at. |
| doughboykilla | 10-12-2008 12:59 PM | yeah DO NOT POST any info on how to get around the holds there are many spys of both ebay/paypal and pig ebay/paypal snitchs that comes on these fourms just to find out how we get around there system and find fixes for it. |
| Burst | 10-12-2008 01:00 PM | Well for those who still have the issue. Paypal confirmed after positive feedback, it takes 24 hours for the hold to be released. |
| doughboykilla | 10-12-2008 02:29 PM | yeah and after a few sales and good feedback the holds will go away and u wont have that problem no more. |
| philly387 | 10-12-2008 03:23 PM | Would it help if you put funds into your paypal account before you even sold anything? |
| thefuzz73 | 10-13-2008 03:19 PM | ooops sorry nearly let the cat out of the bag |
| Here We Go Again | 10-13-2008 03:51 PM | Yes there are at least 3 different ways around the 21 Day Hold.
I will NOT post any of these ways on this forum.
Nor will I tell them to you in a PM message.
Modee is right.... Modee's Post NO ONE who has figured this out should post it here. DO NOT POST THESE WORK AROUNDS!
Once any of these work arounds gets posted it will not work any longer.
Yes there are eBay/PP spies lurking on this forum.
If you were them wouldn't you be? |

Some go through without any issues though so it makes me wonder why |
| aking | 10-14-2008 12:12 AM | ....sigh.... |
| myIonU | 10-17-2008 01:08 AM | I think they have stopped holding my payment. I maybe have earned their trust, so they no longer need to hold my payment. |
| Burst | 10-17-2008 06:03 AM | Give it a few more transactions, I thought the same and then it was back to holding again. |
| aking | 10-20-2008 02:49 PM | my holds have stopped as well i noticed after making a few changes :) |
| importracer150 | 10-20-2008 10:49 PM | I figured out last night how to get around the hold, but I aint telling!! |
| trixx831 | 10-21-2008 12:37 AM | I'm struggling with the holds on one of my accounts..
One account doesn't seem to get these, whereas the other account seems to get them every couple of transactions or so..The odd part is, both accounts were created the same way, and one gets it while the other does not..
If anyone has any suggestions and would be willing to PM some help in regards to what I may be able to do, it would be greatly appreciated.. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:42 PM. | |
