Give it a few more transactions, I thought the same and then it was back to holding again.

aking 10-20-2008 02:49 PM

my holds have stopped as well i noticed after making a few changes :)

importracer150 10-20-2008 10:49 PM

I figured out last night how to get around the hold, but I aint telling!!

trixx831 10-21-2008 12:37 AM

I'm struggling with the holds on one of my accounts..

One account doesn't seem to get these, whereas the other account seems to get them every couple of transactions or so..The odd part is, both accounts were created the same way, and one gets it while the other does not..

If anyone has any suggestions and would be willing to PM some help in regards to what I may be able to do, it would be greatly appreciated..

It depends on what your saleing like if u sale a old flower vase and knick knack of some sort or any thing of that nature ur more and likely not going to get a hold on any of the payments but if u sale Dvds Pc games Ps3's high $ hand bags or any VeRO items you will get a hold every time.

x2ruff4u 10-23-2008 01:37 AM

I got it the day after I made my last post in this topic. Gee would you believe the new crap they come up with

Burst 10-23-2008 06:40 AM

Just roll with it

aking 10-23-2008 07:57 AM

Yea, its not that bad, you might even offer express shipping on your items so it gets there faster and you get your money released faster. Just call paypal and they will release the money over the phone. It takes like 2 mins.

flash2782 10-23-2008 11:11 AM

aking 10-24-2008 11:11 AM

yea, i thought i figured it out but i just got another hold. I really dont think there is anyway around it. If you sell something valuable, there WILL be a hold placed on it.

Here We Go Again 10-24-2008 02:51 PM

^^^^^^^^^^
Just because you have not figured out the trick does not mean that there is not a trick.

Yes there are ways around. I have said that MANY times.
There are ways for your payments to NEVER be held.
There are ways to release held payments when ever you want them released.
I have used both methods this last week and they both work.

These methods will not be posted on this open forum.
You ask.... Well why won't you post them?
Well that is because I want these methods to KEEP WORKING as does everyone who knows them.
If they get posted then Paypal/eBay will fix the loopholes because they will read the post .

Are kids allowed on this forum? Like...10-year-old kids? This guy has PM'd me multiple times about this and each time he sounds like a screaming little boy.

Those are the type of people I pay NO attention to except for the brief second to hit delete...

Ebay_Victim 10-24-2008 06:34 PM

So i guess my hold is bc i was selling items starting $1.00, no brand names. i think thats my problem. They lift after 21 days right? If i were to sell last week, vs items from today, will the items i sell today hold another 21 days?

Here We Go Again 10-24-2008 07:00 PM

^^^^^^^^
The hold is 21 days from the day a payment hits your account.
Each payment counts down from 21 independently of any other payment.
And it counts to the second not just by days.

Example:
Receive Payment on Nov 1st at 5:26:01pm - Released Nov 22nd at 5:26:01pm
Receive Payment on Nov 2nd at 6:43:27pm - Released Nov 23rd at 6:43:27pm
Receive Payment on Nov 3rd at 7:13:56am - Released Nov 24th at 7:13:56am
Receive Payment on Nov 4th at 1:55:19am - Released Nov 25th at 1:55:19am

and on and on and on.....................

miyagi 10-25-2008 04:54 AM

As soon as you start to recieve feedback a few times (5 in a row for me) they stopped holding altogether.

They were holding for even small amounts like £1 and such for me so I sold a load of cheapie items and then emailed everyone and said please leave me feedback and then by the time my real items ended I had no holds placed on my account.

Try it :D

Burst 10-25-2008 09:10 AM

Your holds will be definite if you have changed your user I'd as well. I believe until the 30 days is up the holds will continue until the "recently changed userid" icon goes away.

aking 10-25-2008 11:32 AM

ebay will lose a lot of customers b/c of this hold thing.

Here We Go Again 10-25-2008 11:34 AM

The 21 day hold does not affect every seller on eBay.
Just the new ones, but there are at least 3 different way around the hold.
If you do your research this hold will not affect you.

duderino 10-28-2008 09:43 AM

I am an unfortunate victim of the holds now. I know there is a way around it and that it is not being posted in the forums. Is someone willing to share the secret to me privately. Please. I have been a member of the forum for a few months and don't work for ebay or paypal. If email will work. email at zen2112@q.com Thanks in advance for any help.

Burst 10-28-2008 12:01 PM

If your account is less than 30 days old, or if you have changed your user I'd within the past 30 days. Then just wait it out and work with pp by shipping the items and or calling when feedbacks been given.

aking 10-29-2008 08:18 PM

Paypal is crazy. So i usually call paypal to release payments as soon as i see my items are delivered. Paypal usually releases the money while im on the phone with them. Well Today the lady says I have to wait 3 days after it is delivered for it to be released. So now im upset b/c of their inconsistency. I dont like this sometimes stuff. I had to hold my cool b/c i didnt want my account to end up limited, but i wanted to be a paint so bad, lol.

sycore 10-30-2008 02:11 PM

If you open new ebay accounts sooner or later the will hit you with a 21 days hold, no matter what paypal account it is linked to. I just got rid of mine by putting in tracking numbers that showed as already being delivered.

Here We Go Again 10-30-2008 02:15 PM

Hey folks....
Stop and listen for a second.

DO SOME RESEARCH!!!!

There are at least 3 different ways around this 21 day hold.
This is public knowledge.
DO THE RESAERCH.

aking 10-30-2008 03:41 PM

believe me i have done the research and tried everything that was mentioned publicly. nothing has worked

yea but the delivery location in the tracking info will be different than the invoice. so how is that gonna work?

Here We Go Again 10-30-2008 03:57 PM

Aking^^^^^^^^^

The information about 1 of these ways has been published on the web somewhere else.
Another well known eBay/Paypal site.

aking 10-30-2008 04:22 PM

ok, i have googled it and yahoo'd it numerous times. i guess i missed it.

Here We Go Again 10-30-2008 04:50 PM

Yes you did.
Because I just googled it also and found it.

trixx831 10-30-2008 05:45 PM

The suspense is killing me... lol... I'm searching as well..

Funny part is, I didn't even know there was other well known sites regarding ebay/paypal, as that was never really my avenue of searching prior to my suspension..

Intriguing...

JamesYaBaoy 10-30-2008 06:20 PM

Just found it my self. Thanks!

Lol, so I thought we were trying to keep this a secret?

Here We Go Again 10-30-2008 09:15 PM

I gave up... LOL

It has been published on more than 1 site on the net.
It just go to show how many people on here do not do any research before asking questions.

aspkin 10-30-2008 09:21 PM

Agreed.. but the more it's out there as Modee says, the faster it will stop working...

Keeping things on the down low for as long as we can will be better..

Here We Go Again 10-30-2008 10:39 PM

Trust me... I am still not going to post it.
If a person can't find it that is their fault.
But that does not give them the right to tell me that I am full of it.
That is getting old... But Hey what should I expect from newbies who won't do their own research... LOL

Paypal 21 Day Hold Question

I have started a new eBay and PP account about a month ago and it is going pretty good 17 sales and no real issues, but 13 orders have had the 21 day hold. Is this typical? I have been selling common, non risk items. I have even shipped before payments are received so I do not have to wait so long for payment. Why is my hold percentage to high?

Also, does the hold policy mean they are less likely to freeze the account and ask for SS # etc?

yougotit 11-03-2008 03:14 PM

typical

yes, for new accounts paypal is holding most payments. as you sell more they will start holding fewer payments. eventually they will stop holding

aking 11-03-2008 03:20 PM

just make sure you obid my paypals rules and you should be ok. be sure to put tracking info on paypal so they can confirm it delivered. Also, you can just call them and have the funds released after delivery.

TGMT² 11-03-2008 03:20 PM

On my new account I have about 30 transactions and everything over $15. has had the 21 day hold.

Burst 11-03-2008 04:58 PM

SWIM just saw a hold for $1.00
