A. To cover their ass when people fight back- meaning they can fall back and say they had an open case on it: it wasn’t “closed” and ultimate resolution would be for them to give the money back.
B. If they just withdrew the money without having a case- that is 100% illegal and they could be sued in district court for 3x the amount for “treble” damages.
I’ll be anxious awaiting a response. I never sold through PayPal directly, I received payments from eBay that was funded by PayPal. If it was allowed on eBay (and still is) - so all they are going by is a “description” of my products.
There’s a major issue there. My PayPal was perm. Limited but eBay was not.
These are two separate companies with different policies.
If the response from the demand letter doesn’t come with resolution I am debating going to the media to investigate this. I’ll be joining anyone who is also fighting and will check for others updates daily.
