Better than giving negative feedback, saying bad things then asking for the refund. And better than asking for a refund then wanting to send the item back to then I wish they would just throw it in the bin because I don't want it back.

I take refund and free items, with slight loss over negative feedback or neutral feedback and defect against my seller standard. Any day of the week.

Plot twist. The Negative comes 5 minutes after the email.

In that case, there's absolutely no need to help him. Tell him to F off and report him to eBay.

Shame about this. This is a loser buyer.

I had one of these last month. Was a total nightmare and did cause me my account.

Now the removal of feedback.

This was easy via eBay Live Chat. Was removed easily. And now, all ready things are hard for sellers and couldn't have made it much worse.

There is a new thing now. Feedback removal goes through a different department and is only done through email.
You would get a email saying blah blah, we can't remove the feedback.

Funny how there is a new thing now. Buyers can't leave power sellers a negative feedback within 7 days of the purchase.

eBay is just for all the big sellers.
The biggest ⊗⊗⊗⊗ monopoly.

yes definitely get the feedback removed, especially if he wrote that to you on ebay messages..

Just out of interest what was the value of the item?

they could open a case and say they binned it as faulty...depends what they said on messages, but they can change it on a case anyway......

Maybe I am wrong, but... how can he ask for a moneyback if he can't send it back?

Those buyers don't want to send it back, they use the 'in the bin' excuse to get it for free by threatening negative feedback (although many are wise enough not to say that directly as its against ebay policy). The wise eBay scammers know that low volume sellers are f***ed because of the defect system, one defect needs like ten positives to cancel it out.

EBay is known as 'freebay' for a reason.

I did the mistake of reporting the buyer to Ebay. My account was lost very shortly after. Why get them to manual review your account.

It all depends.

If it is a small item with low value, I would issue a refund and let it go.

If it is an expensive item, I would offer a refund upon return of the item.

Generally speaking, if your account is solid and you are selling legal items within eBay's rules, then you can fight these things. But if your account is new, or shaky or if your items are questionable or do not conform to eBay's rules, then you can easily lose your account under a manual review.

Thank you for all your replies. Told him to ef of in a nice way.
Can't refund with no return or at least photographic proof of the said damage.

I average about 1000 pos+ feedback a month (2 neutral 2 neg). So couple of idiots with feedback don't get to me. But the thought process of some people just beggars belief.

Also I think you making it too easy for the scammers to scam by just giving out refunds left right and centre.

some people try it and then go away and do not open a case, so it is a good idea to be firm and reasonble, as sometimes they do not want to open a case, as they are doing this to alot of people and want to keep their scamming on the down-low.....

I bought a piece of rubbish from America once. Rather than send it back I agreed with the seller to destroy it and take photos of it. When I sent the photos they refunded me. Both sides won IMO as although I was not impressed with the item, I was impressed that the seller did not force me to go the the expense and hassle of returning it.
