yeah the ones ive gotten have all been non of the above. The whole thing is really weird. Like what are they trying to do. This seems like the biggest waste of everyones time. Even people who are 100% using all their real info and never having any problems with ebay seem to be getting caught in the net. I guess they are saying if youre legit then youll just send the info but how many people do you think are going to just say screw it im not sending that i ust wont sell on ebay. They really seem to not even care about making money anymore.

Yes, the verification process for me was about a week. My new account is actually not a stealth account, but I was banned years ago due to my account being hacked, and all attempts to open a new account were thwarted. With the original account, I was required to pay for items I had not actually purchased, and because I refused to pay, eBay banned me. Well, I appealed to them on this matter, and they allowed me to open a new account with my real information. They asked for the DL and a utility bill.

Is this only happening to US and UK accounts? I would think so since there's a public database of addresses/phone numbers/names for eBay to look-up. It's like the AVS for credit cards. Other countries though don't have it.

Never had it on a UK account. All seems fine at the moment.

This seems to be a problem for US sellers. Touch wood, I dont think this is a problem in the UK.

So what if you call them back within the 48hrs? Someone said that the verification isn't as rough. Also, what is the number, I want to call them!

And this verification thing could be REALLY BAD! If ebay is going to verify all new accounts then people are going to start using REAL information (identity theft) just so the verification goes thru.

Just think, someone could be using your name and address on a stealth account just so it clears verification.

I recently had this happened to me also. I called then within 15 minute of the suspension and the ebay employee told me i had to fax in a photo is, a cc statement or utility bill, and proof of inventory that what i had listed was in my possesion. My account was just under a month old.

Like I said in the other post, it only matters what you are selling and how much quantity!!! If you sell 4 of the same items, you WILL get popped. I had the exact same thing happen to me with paypal, they said "oh we see you have sold 3 of the same movie so we would like to see your invoices".

There is more going on then just listing the same items in a row etc.. I have been playing with this for days, its caused on new accounts with no history or little history, also as soon as a fee is charged to the account for listing.

I listed the same items many times like that. I'd start with one wait for feedback then 2-3 then 5 then work my way up to 10 a day by the end of the week, of nothing but the same item and I 'd go on like that for weeks. The only time I ever get suspended is if I don't give refunds and I get 2-3 chargebacks.

Another thing I forgot to add, I just listed 10 of the same dvds the other day all at the same time on a 1 day auction then placed extra high bids on each from 10 of my buyer accounts and didn't even pay for them just marked as paid and shipped. So now when I look at items sold I see all 10 of my buyer accounts with 0 feedback less then 5 days old all made on the same day purchased the same item, still waiting to leave feedback. I know that's pushing it, still haven't got popped, just don't try that at home.

This isnt just a US thing...
I have had 3 stealth ebay accounts wiped out over the last couple of weeks on Ebay UK.
It is basically down to what you sell - if its vero they will phone you within an hour or so of you placing the listing, and before it becomes live in the
listings. If you dont answer the International call they MC081 the account within a couple of minutes.

Its definately a Vero problem on Ebay - I have 3 other stealth accounts up and running selling non-vero items and they havent been troubled at all.

I basically try listing 1 vero item at a time, per account (valued at $200).

I also tried a Vero workaround - basically listed an item without any vero name. This listed fine. A day or so later I added the Vero name into the body of the listing and got the dreaded MC081 hit within 24 hours.

I have also today tried to list 1 vero item on AUS Ebay using a new UK Ebay account and had the MC081 hit.

I agree that what I am trying to list is a very high risk item, however there are people getting away with it so I will keep trying, and I am determined to find a workaround for this.

I am burning my way through stealth ebay and new bank accounts, however I have a few more workaround ideas that I am trying out at the moment.

Are there any Australian Ebay account holders who have been hit with the MC081 when listing on AUS Ebay?
Is this just a US and UK thing at the moment?

Id also like to know how many people have managed to get their accounts back after having the MC081 and sending in all drivers licence details etc.

For myself this is definately a Vero problem - however if I send in stealth DL details etc what is the chance of my account being unlimited? And will that then give me the green light to start selling the Vero items again??

Im really researching this at the moment so any ideas and experiences would be great - I will also add any workaround ideas I discover any.

Please PM me with any ideas.

If you receive an MC010 suspension this is a "soft" identity verification email. If you respond within 48 hours and call them then they will typically just clear you over the phone.

If you wait more than 48 hours after receiving an MC010 you will be hit with an MC169 and this will *REQUIRE* a copy of your driver's license and a recent utility bill.

Sometimes you receive an MC169 without an MC010.

Sometimes you receive and MC010 or MC169 more than once (Two of my accounts went through verification 3 times).

If you are suspended you can still withdraw from Paypal. It does not appear that Paypal cares as much about these suspensions as they do about others. I have never had a limitation problem after about 30 different accounts going through this process.

PROCESS:

You have to fax the documents in. The approximate turnaround time is a week (quickest has been 5 days and one account took over 2 weeks).

This is a pain in the butt more than anything. Have your ID and utility bills ready BEFORE you are suspend because you will be and it is best to be ready.

On the plus side, I have not had a Paypal limitation on ANY accounts that have gone through eBay MC010 or MC169 verifications *YET*. I will keep you posted on this.

I decided to start an official thread on this since many people have questioned this suspension and no one has provided much relevant information yet. Please feel free to add or subtract as you feel appropriate.

Good luck.
I recently got the MC010 nad thelistings cancelation. I phoned them but they did not find anything to ask me, so they asked me to fax them stuff.
I faxed them yesterday, but i wanted to ask if you kow. Does ebay sent you an email confirming that they have received your fax?? Because when i called them yesterday to ask , they said that they don't, they just email you after 7-10 days to tell you the outcome of the investigation.
Do you know??
Because i want to make sure they get my fax.
I want this to be over quickly.

i had the same problem recently and they denied my appeal after faxing them infos... no idea why...i got so angry i cursed them out over the phone ,they hung up on me...lol

its definatly a vero item problem.... i think the key is to sell 1 a day untilll you hit 15 feedbacks...

You shoudn't even really be selling vero until you've got an established track record, you should get selling feedback up to at least 20 from similar generic items. Vero on a new account with no track record is obvious flag.

Okay this is really serious now! They are really wanting to get people off of ebay. The book should be rewritten for new sellers or something. I tryed about 10 different things! I am having a hard ass time figuring these guys out on this. Im getting little success here and there but this #@$ is driving me nuts!

You've got to take it slow. eBay cannot possibly verify the ID card or passport of every single new seller.

The ID verify , from my experience, only happens when you list more then 1 item after the first one. If you wait for your first item to sell then relist and do that a few times you should be clear.
