Yes I always use a different name on everything I order from everywhere. UPS EMS FEDX all go to my many locations with no problem. i think it's cause so many people have home businesses with many names.

Ok thanks thats great to know.

When importing items from China do you ever have to pay importing taxes though.
I have all the items labeled gift, but would they be able to track those items to me to pay importing taxes.

"why take a chance? At least, that's the way I feel" quote from the movie Casino by Remo Gaggi in the courthouse scene.

we are not killing people though to cover our tracks but I for one am not connecting or letting customs know I accepted and have knowledge of anything I receive from "borderline legal" factories from asia. Or I guess you could say borderline illegal.

I don't see how they could do that. If duties are assesed, someone has opened the package and placed a value on the items.

Once the package is out of their hands, all they would have is the description of the item written on the customs form and the declared value (if they even save that information). So I don't see how they could come up with a value in order to levy a tax.

Also, packages valued at $250 or less are almost never subject to tax. I read this on the CBP website, so I'm sure its true.

Just spoke with DHL from stealth cell phone.

The lady was really nice and wanted my name, address, and phone #.
She said she placed a internal track on the packages and that I would hear from DHL within 2 hours.
She said that in her system that the package was showing everything as normal.

We will see what happens in a few hours......

LOL....
DHL just called me back.
Both of my packages have been seized by US Customs.
The lady told me I would be receiving letters from the US Customs in regards to the reasons.

Looks like DHL Cincinnati is turning into a BAD location.

O-well Life goes on.

Looks like I will be getting a new shipping address soon.
When I get my Customs letters I will scan them and email them to my supplier.
Then they will reship the goods to a new address.

Wow, Cincinnati is suppose to be the best location. Los Angeles is known to be the worst.

Damn, that's a lot of seizures. Are they even allowed to seize authentic goods?

My experience with EMS has been perfect. Not a single shipment seized, been' ordering from suppliers in China steadily for 4 months. DHL on the other hand seized my shipment once the very first time and I never used them again. Goods are going through San Fransisco and Los Angeles.

I have a system that works for me. In my opinion the most important factor is your supplier. I realized the good suppliers use styro foam and plenty of tape, instead of traditional boxes. It's probably because they figured out customs wouldn't want to even try to open the basically huge ball of tape so they just let it pass.

It's a small hassle to open the shipment though with all that damn tape and styro foam crumbs. Every single supplier I have uses this method of packing. I never order anything more than 50lbs, I actually try to stay under 45lbs to be safe and I receive from three different locations. I'm getting about 12 shipments in a month doing it this way. Take it for it's worth.

Firstly of all,If you shipping the goods by DHL,you need to import the goods from hong kong china, not is mainland,as hong kong china have a good repution in the world,so it will pass usa custom easier than china mainland.
Secondly,EMS to usa middle is not too much safe now,so you need to be careful,EMS to other city of usa is no problem,of cource you need to shipping it to more small packages.
Also you had better use the family address ,not is commercial address, the custom will be more attention the commercial address .As they want to see the taxes system

Default ,,,,

yea, it does.

The 5 boxes that just arrived in cincy on Sunday:
looks like all 5 boxes got thru customs and have left cincy.
they should all be delivered to me Monday.
(I called dhl to confirm this)

The 5 boxes that got there last Thursday:
I have not called them about them since Friday. They told me Friday that customs had them and they could have them for upwards of 30 days.

more updates when I get em.
